I voted for Gundogan, but I would like to see Phil starting to take our penalties. The kid has some nerves of steel and I am confident he will nail all of them. I also don’t mind giving it to Ederson. We need to get rid of this bad habit before it bites us again in an important game.

The issue for me with Ederson is if he misses and has to sprint back.
Surely more practice is the answer?

Ederson on penalties is a legitimately good bet. Think of all the things that need to happen:

1. It has to hit the post or be saved and not go behind
2. It has to fall perfectly to an opponent
3. The opposition have to actually score it, which is harder than it looks judging by how rarely anyone actually scores into empty nets when 'keepers come up for corners (almost never).

The risks are small and worth taking if it means we don't keep missing them.
