In the days of Yaya and Balotelli I would have backed City against anyone in a shootout. Not anymore.

Haven't we won 7 of our last 8 penalty shootouts?
Need to practice these in training now that Mahrez is off for a month or so.
Sterling has clearly been practicing them and putting his name forward to take them this season, probably because of the Euro 2020 final.
I wouldn't be surprised if he took any while Mahrez was gone.

Obviously "touch wood" but we seem to be lifting the ball now when taking them. Invariably a keeper dives low so giving the taker greater odds
I noticed the same. Looks like some attention has been paid on the training ground.
The last 3 pens (2 Mahrez, 1 Sterling) have been placed where they cannot be saved.

That’s correct. Before losing at West Ham this season, we’d won seven shootouts on the bounce going back to 2008-09.Haven't we won 7 of our last 8 penalty shootouts?
