People ejected from 109?

Unrelated to what happened in 109 but I feel intimidated just going for a piss now. 8 stewards in 119 toilets, I know they want to catch the smokers but come on.

None smoker btw

There was one female steward (frizzy hair and yellow high vis jacket) walking up and down the aisle almost all of the first half telling people to sit down and shouting "I know you can hear me" to people when they wouldn't, in the second half she had a radio and called in the showsec lot, she then cowered at the front still talking to someone on her radio while they did their heavy handed bit smiling away to herself and her colleagues all the while.

Really very pathetic all of it really.

-- Thu Nov 28, 2013 3:43 am --

It was ridiculous.
They had no reason to eject them.
Some of them are power mad!
Everyone that was in and around that area were absolutely baffled at what went on.

I'm fairly close to the aisle and as they marched the lads up the stairs, one of the big fat showsec lads said 4 game ban, in a really smug voice as if he was thrilled with what he just did.

Oh I've heard some of the very same stewards in another venue (not sporting) talk about ejecting people like its a badge of honour, proper sad.

Don't know what all the fuss is about.....it's a all sweater stadium-ur supposed to sit!
AND I AM DEFFO ONLY JOKING!!
It's pathetic.all the people who stand up and it's just a few that they target.
The club would be sorry if we all fucked off and went to support FC CITY or somat!
No atmosphere last night as it was.they are gonna kill it off completley.

I'm in another block where we stand so can only watch Showsec ruin the 'matchday experience' but after the club balls up stating 109 was standing previously and all the hassle last season if you're in that block why are you still there?

Let the baby have the ball and move.

I'm not defending the behaviour of ShowSec but I do know the club's thinking on this. They are happy to tolerate standing in the South Stand and 110/111 and Peter Fletcher has done a lot behind the scenes to ensure we don't get hassled by the licensing authorities. Also everyone now knows these are standing blocks and have moved if they don't want to stand.

But they draw the line at 109 because of where it is. In the other blocks, you aren't blocking anyone's view if you're stood up but if they extend their leniency to any other part of the ground then peoples' view could be obstructed. So people standing in 109 could obscure the view of someone in 107. So even if we introduce safe standing then it won't be in 109 anyway. And if they don't crack down then we'll get more and more problems.

Not defending the behaviour of the little Hitlers in yellow jackets but that's the story.

It's a turd of a story PB. The only view being blocked would be a tiny sliver near the corner flag.

Tell me that a) you don't see 107 standing when then the ball is in that area of the pitch during an attack, b) even fucking Showsec would dare to tell people to sit down when the ball was there during an attack. 109 should be allowed to stand.

From what I could see was a few average joes in the middle of a load of standing people getting ejected while the whole of the south stand were on their feet and the away support were bouncing up and down enjoying themselves. Doesn't make sense. Surely the club and supporter representatives must get involved as it's so unjust and random.

I had exactly the same thing a few years back, on the middle of 109, people stood in front and to the sides of me, no problem I thought until the showsec arsehole at the front kept giving me the eyes and mouthing sit down at me, I was hardly going to sit as being a 5'7 lad i'm gonna see nothing...

Half way through first half he pushes past half a row of people telling me he will knock me out and get me banned so I just laughed at him whilst getting pulled all over, then a lad in the row in front told him to pick on someone his own size to which the absolute prick radio'd and got the coppers down to drag him out.

We then argued as he was telling me and the lads to the side of me to sit but didn't grasp the fact he was blocking our view, eventually his colleague came and pulled him away as he realised what a nob he was being but I moved after a few other similar incidents.

Someone needs to kick up a right old fuss. Seriously. Fight it.
... or do nowt and nothing will change. These bstards will just get worse. I'm not in 109 but as a minimum, you could email the club saying you will not spend anything in the bars etc until this is sorted. And tell those around you to do the same. Bet this will be happening again on Sunday. It stinks.
