People in 3rd Tier and People on lower tier please look in..

The first dozen or so rows of the 3rd tier are probably the best in the stadium, but the back dozen or so rows are just too high up. I was on the penultimate row for a couple of seasons and it just felt too detached from the action.

I moved from 2nd tier of family stand to the new tier for the 299 season tickets, great view, dont regret it at all, the stairs are a bastard for fat boys like myself though

When we first moved there I was about half way up in Block 307, Level 3. It was a nice enough view but it didn't feel like I was part of the game if that makes sense? It was like I was so far detached from the pitch that I may as well have been watching on tele.

So I moved down to Block 105, Level 1, and it's the best thing I could have done. I know feel part of the game and part of the atmosphere.

That's one thing I think makes our atmosphere bad though, that Level 1 is so small (only goes back about thirty rows) that too many people aren't part of the atmosphere and are too detached from it all in Levels 2 and 3. That's why I think big one tier'd stands like the Südtribüne or our very own old Kippax are the best types of stands, rather than places like Real Madrid's stadium or the Etihad, because everyone is in one tier and not detached from the game.

fuck getting wet, top tier for me and a brill view

The view we FOCs have in CBL3 is unsurpassed. Mind, I'm on Row E. Wouldn't want to watch from anywhere else. I've been over among the FOCs in EL3 and they've got all the spirals the wrong way round over there, so it's HT before yer head's stopped spinning, and I've been in the NS for a EL Cup game. I've also been in the East Stand Level 1 for an England game, but where I'll be tonight will be the best seat in the ground!

Overall perspective v close-up view.

In first few rows you get a close up impression of the play, and can appreciate the skill and power of the players, but when the game is on the far-side any you are low down, it's misleading and you don't have a good view of what is going on

You knew that anyway. I'd go for the 3rd tier. However if you have young fans who like the atmosphere, they might want to be close to the game

-- Sun Jun 10, 2012 12:22 pm --

Fewer people tend to stand in 3rd tier as well
It's the arthritis that's the problem. We're all a bit more mature than you young 'uns where I sit in 304, and it's harder for some to constantly be up and down.

As for row R, I sit in row K and the view is brilliant, and it's only 6 or 7 rows higher (if there's a row O or not, I can still count!). From up high, you can see moves develop, and off sides far better than most linos (unsurprisingly!). The only downside is that the spirals seem to get steeper and longer every year!

Totally agree. The front of the top tier, especially towards the middle, is the best view in the whole stadium. I also agree it just isn't the same at the back of that tier. My Dad right behind the commentators and I'd argue that you can't get better, because you can even see the replays on their screens!

The front half of the bottom tier is appalling. You can't see shit and everyone stands up when we attack.

Oh yes, and to add to my above post the CB 3rd tier is better than the East Stand, because you don't get the sun in your eyes.

The number of baseball caps I've ended up with at The Academy 'cos I forgot about the sun in my eyes - I could open a baseball cap shop. I don't half feel smug when I've remembered one and there's folk holding up a proggy!
