People Whos Saying 'Sacking Managers Have Got Us Nowhere'

I love this old cliche.

When will the people who trots out this line realise that it's not sacking the managers that causes the problem, it's employing the wrong ones in the first place.

thats spot on, when the money come in we needed to go and get a top class manager, we got mark hughes, shite.

Its frustrating to see all these stupid threads, especially when people show such a lack of intelligence. We tried to "get the best" and look at them, their shite. We need players who are willing to work hard, Bullard, for example, would have been a good signing. The same goes for managers, some like Mourinho, would come here for the wrong reasons. He'd buy more of these overpriced journeymen.

well said
if time was all managers needed why didn't dario gradi get crewe into the top flight he had 30years or so
you need to give the right man time and backing hughes however is clearly
NOT THE RIGHTMAN !

It's always preferable to have a sustained period of stability and I don't think many of us like the managerial merry go round but the difference now and in the passed is our owners and ambition we must have, sadly even after the major invesment we've had in the last couple of years we haven't moved forward on the pitch, which is where it really matters.

Winners don't settle for second best and we need to start thinking like that, as Chelski did with Scolari last season and get a change in sooner rather than later, hell they were 4th in the league and still in all cups and they felt the need to change but no not us lets continue and hope tommorow sees our fortunes change.

I very rarely comment on the Hughes debate because it's boring, monotonous, and a waste of time. But this is something I don't get.
"Hughes outers" love our owners, and they hate Hughes. Our owners are backing Hughes and keeping him in the job. So why is frustration never directed at the owners? If you believe Hughes is so inept and that we should all be able to see it, do you ever question the competence of our owners and their footballing knowledge, since they believe Hughes is the right man for the job?

I see your point, but the owners are doing well because they will realise hughes can't do it and my prediction is he will be gone by next week, they have had to give him time which they promised and now its clear it isn't working, the owners will do whats right for this club and i believe there next step in this club will be replacing our shit manager and getting a big name in, something we've never ever seen.
