Pep’s Spurs (H) Post-Match Interview

I have rewatched the game and pep was saying nobody was helping Lewis after the fouls ? sorry pep your wrong, go and watch the city players moaning to the ref about the amount of fouls on Lewis,
I don't think that was what Pep was saying, I think he wanted someone to get a Spurs player by the throat. I said leaving the game that with the sort of tackles that were being allowed a Kompany, de Jong etc would have thought brilliant, give me a 50:50 and they certainly wouldn't have let some of those tackles go by without getting in someone's face.

Pep spoke about lack of fire, the team (and fans) being too relaxed and that's what changed at half time. The formation didn't change, the team didn't change, they just put a bit of effort in, especially without the ball and suddenly we looked like the team who got 100 points. It was interesting just watching the full BBC interview, he names Lewis, Alvarez, Grealish for putting in the effort, in the media room he also named Ake, but he was also asked about Mahrez and said before the World Cup he was on holiday, no passion, now he's realised and is back in the side. Hopefully some of those watching the game from the bench have realised what is expected of them, and it's got nothing to do with what they did last season or the size of their contract.

You wouldnt get it at anfield he is right... because theyre fucking junk... they celebrate beating us as if its trophy, they have slowly reverted back to their level so it was fun while it lasted for em

Must have missed the abuse of Karius on the night after the Champs League loss to Madrid the first time...

You might be surprised. Walk around the stadium before games and you rarely hear a Manc accent these days.

Most of those 36k season ticket holders will be people like me, going for decades, done their singing or fighting, now take their own kids if they can still afford to, and just want to watch the game and see City hopefully win.

We have thousands of day-trippers, they are picking up the slack this season and filling the seats because the locals have all been priced out.

Never taken my 15-year-old lad to an away day, apart from Wembley finals, he's been going since he was three and have about 10k points each, despite going every week.

It's an away day closed shop of older fans who can afford to go and day trippers who somehow know a shortcut?

Spot on mate, tell you somert though it’s a good job we not sat in pub now me and you chewing the fat,we would be called a right pair of moaning bastards, you at 48 me at 51,we are on the same page though that’s for sure, his comments have touched a nerve with you as they have me

Genuine question: are we now going to boo the team every time we feel they aren’t playing well?
Who knows it all depends if its deserved or not ?
It was a crazy end to the 1st half ,it went all tits up when we were all expecting to go in at halftime all square in a drab 1st half .
Fair play to the players though ,they deserve credit for their 2nd half performances esp Mahrez & Grealish they were outstanding .

No never, the only time I booed was at Joey Barton when he put the transfer in and was acting a **** I just think it's self defeating.
You booed because of comical mistakes ? Do you think a player does that on purpose ? How does that help him ? The answer it won't and is a bullshit comment mate.

Pep construed the booing with entitlement, when it was down to performance.

Do you think Pep was not critical of the team at half-time?

I've earned the right just as much as Pep to tell them when I think they are selling both themselves and us short.

He gets paid £20m a year for the privilege of doing that, but my money is just as good as his.

As Pep has revealed, we have players who aren't pulling their weight and I agree, so don't care about their feelings.

The correlation between ticket prices and the type of people who are in attendance are completely relevant.

Do you think the Chinese couple sat a few seats down from me taking selfies were going nuts?

They were happy enough and seemed to have had a good spend at the Store, but they are paying a premium to attend and can decide how they show any support.

For me, anyone who pays a ticket, is already delivering the ultimate in support.

Couple of hundred thousand City fans sat at home who can't afford to go, yet the Club could easily do something about the pricing to encourage more locals to attend with the legacy fans.

Isn’t his point more simple. We can raise the roof when we choose to and he just wants that more often.

I understand the changes in fan demographics and the pricing out of so many fans but if you had told the 1980s me that there would be boos (from a small minority) after achieving what we have over recent years I would have been gobsmacked - and to be honest I still am.

And I hate Iron Maiden !

fans have the right to boo, just like they have a right to celebrate and clap and sing ? if you're not turning up like pep says the players are doing, then sorry, it's not the fans fault ? it's at Peps door lies the truth.

the whole world can see the problem, when players are asked to cover somebody else role in the team you get a problem because they are not uses to playing that role week after week or played that way, I love AKE for playing in that role or putting his hand up and saying I will do that, he wants to play so will do anything to play,

But it's not good for the team because the better teams will hurt you ? boy, do we get punished down the left ? both spurs goals were down to the left side and 3 or 4 more very good chance also,

what does it say about Gomez, who is a left wing back and was signed by pep for that role ? Or the young EDS lads that play on the left wing back, Pep got a very big problem with his Ego and will not say he is wrong about the left side of defence, we have had all summer and this winter transfer to fix it but nothing,

what we achieved last week, last year, the last decade is meaningless, what matters is the effort on the day. It wasn't there in the first half yesterday and Pep called it out himself afterwards. I don't care if we're top of the league by 10 points, a shit performance should get the response to pull their fingers out. At the same time, I good performance resulting in a loss should be applauded.

I didn't boo at half time, although I didn't clap either. I did clap and cheer in the second half and applauded them off because of what they did in that 45 minutes. All I expect is effort, just as all I've expected is effort from all the sides before Pep, regardless of what division it was.
