Pep/Bayern Watch 2015/16

They are playing really really bad, no movement from Bayern players.

Ribery seems so off pace, Coman is all on his own when trying to break through. And Robben doing his best impression of lazy Yayaw when he is strolling around.

Lol. Robben was the only one who you could see really wanted the win.
Comparing him with Yaya is an insult.

I was a bit shocked to see they had lost at home last night, but what was even more shocking, was losing to a team that only had 22% possession of a football, that really shouldn't happen to any team anywhere, you'd probably expect a team down to 9 men to have better possession stats than that, so what was wrong last night I wonder ?

Was it just a complete one off freak result, or was there more to it ?

Probably the Pep leaving and coming to us situ, the announcement seems to have fucked them and us up.

Bayern seems to have a problem with fast breaks and Mainz is one of a few german teams that can play that. Plus Mainz players did run 125 Kilometres, second best of all teams this season, making passing difficult for Bayern. And former city youth keeper Loris Karius had a fine day.

Cheers for the reply, that's a worry for us, considering the difference between our squads, and it being of our biggest issues.

I've only seen the BBC stats, which don't go into much detail, by contrast how much did Bayern complete ? A link to other stats from the game would be interesting to read too. I was very surprised at the possession stats, were Bayern trying to walk the ball into the goal, or just unlucky (keeper inspired) ?

Not really. Before this match the results and our game was fine. If anything has fucked us up it's the injuries of Martinez, Boateng, Badstuber and Benatia.
Yesterday was a game that happens 1 in a million times. You usually don't win if you play like Mainz did.
22% posession and 2 shots. The last time I've seen such a scrappy win was when Leverkusen beat us thanks to Sidney Sam using Boateng's head to score in the 87. minute.

Even though the game tonight was 0-0. I found it intriguing. After recently reading Pep Confidential book and seeing how he implements different systems, it was amazing to see how disciplined each player is to his methods, they are pressing all over, they all of there own little zones and interchange when needs be and they all move in unison. Even watching Dortmond tonight they are just as good at pressing and playing high tempo football. They both cancelled each other out but they are light years ahead of everyone else in there league. As regards to pressing, work rate and working in unison, both teams seem far superior than us in that department which makes you wonder how much is that down to Peller's managerial methods and I just hope to god Pep can have a massive impact on some of our players attitude's. Otherwise he has his work cut out for a major overhaul of our squad.
