Why is he starting a right back on the left when we have two fit left backs? It just meant he had to waste a sub at half-time.

Last season, he was able to deal tactically with KDB being out and we won the league.
The season before, he was able to deal tactically with Mendy being out and we won the league.
This season, he hasn't been able to deal tactically with Laporte being injured and we're 8 points behind after 8 games.

Unless he can do that, we're not going to win the league.

It probably doesn't help that we've replaced Fernandinho in CM. Don't get me wrong, Rodri has been great, but we've basically been forced to change our two most influential defensive players of last season.

We have some older players who struggle with the physicality of the game. This might be a transitional season, unfortunately. Laporte's injury hit us really badly.

Today's loss had nothing to do with Laporte's injury.

We had the ball for 80% of the game and did nothing with it, that's why we lost. We were toothless in possession and kept pushing higher and higher to try and force a goal until we got hit on the counter.

Yeah we are vulnerable on the break, but if the attack wasn't a pile of shit, it wouldn't have mattered.

So Walker came off at half time because he was ill - why on earth start him in the first place?!

He needs to stop worrying about upsetting players and stop with the ego, Rodri is not good enough at this stage to do the job himself, so don't change the system to accomodate him train him to do it and rest him until he can

What even was that today? Poor selection, poor subs, and no plan to change it when it wasn’t working. You guys have all covered most of it, but for me the most frustrating thing is that there are too many players in this team who play based on seniority and not form. The squad looks like it needs a shakeup.

David Silva is a one game a week player at most. Everyone agrees on this, Pep included, yet we feel the need to shoehorn him in today after playing in midweek. He predictably looked like an old man as a result.

Gundogan is fine, but no one thinks he works well in the midfield together with Silva, still gets in the side.

Otamendi has been an off and on disaster for weeks and is seemingly back to diving on the ground like a headless chicken. We have no faith in Garcia or THB so he gets in the side.

Walker has been bad after a fast start, gets in nearly every squad because he is a senior player.

Aguero has been off their boil the last few games and Jesus is glued to the bench. He wasn’t awful today but point remains, we should be more aggressive switching it up with him when it isn’t happening.
