What is madness is that he changed the way we played; slowed everything down, taking less risks with passing forward, stopping players like Foden attempting taking people on etc because he wanted to stop other teams breaking on us.

However it has completely nullified our strengths and made us weaker in midfield and defence.

Exactly, he has traded all our strengths for the illusion of control.
We played into Spurs's hands.

Without being rude common sense.

He was well enough to travel down to London.

A day later he suddenly has some mystery illness that he cannot wait 9 hours for or even be seen at the game so he has to travel back by himself?
Pep said that he was ill, until we know otherwise.we shouldn't be jumping to conclusions.

Pep is the greatest manager we have had and the amount of success he has brought to our club has been unbelievable. This team will be bounce back. However I have observed few of the following things going wrong in the current season.

1. We have traded pace for control on the wings. Sterling and Sane were more menacing on the wings than Mahrez and Grealish. The former two had more goals in them and provided us with more counter-attacking opportunities than the latter two do.
2. Not playing our best 11 consistently. Heck we dont even play the same back 4 for consecutive games. We just chop and change for the sake of it and not because its needed.
3. No over laping full backs. I agree that inverted full backs give us more protection at the back but at what cost. Every time our winger gets the ball on the by-line, he is confronted by two defenders and then he has to pass the ball back the midflied which is already congested.
4. Not playing to Haaland's strengths. Haaland has already provided sufficient return and some may argue that this point is not valid. But I believe that recently Haaland's attacking game has been blunted by making him play like a striker/playmaker like Kane which he is clearly not. Even Haaland has admitted to have been stuyding Harry Kane's game and play like him. Our midflieders have also let him down by not picking up his runs and instead passing onto the wings.
5. Man management. Well I believe its a manager's job the keep the squad hungry and happy. But I have felt that some players get preferential treatment to others. Sane was always lambasted for not helping out in defence yet nothing is said of Mahrez for chickening out on all 50/50s. Zinchenko wasnt given enough playing time last season and we over played Cancelo and still both of them got unhappy and left. We were lucky that Eric Garcia chose to go to Barca otherwise he would had been first choice in our current team despite of his failings. Akanji is our currently first pick of the 5 CB whereas he is onlygood enough for fifth choice. Bernardo is clearly not a happy chap currently and Gundo is out of contract at the end of the season so I wont be surprised if both have lifted the foot of the gas.
6. Playing players out of position. Foden and Grealish both play better on the inside than on the wings. We had Akanji and Stones playing RB for so many games despite having Rico, Walker and Cancelo. Ake is not a LB and Alvarez is a striker not a CAM. Rico is a kid who has played all his life at RB and he is now been asked to play in the middle. I believe Pep has made Rico his pet project like he did with Kimmich at Bayern. Nothing wrong in it but as today showed, the kid got confused in dual role of DM/LB.
7. Poor Transfer Window. We replaced Zinchenko with Gomez. We bought Kalvin Philips despite his injury record and laid back attitude. We did not replace Sterling despite everyone crying out for pace and goal threat on the wingers ref Neymar thread.

I still hope we turn around this Season and Pep makes my points look foolish. No one will be happier than me if he is able to do so.

He played LB frequently in the EDS, which is also when he started playing RB.

If he'd made his debut 6 months later than he did, he could easily have come though at LB and people would be outraged that Pep moved him to the right.

The truth is he's by trade a midfielder who can play either side as an inverted fullback because he's got very good reading of the game,is great on the ball and has the physical attributes to cover the ground.
Someone else pointed out he'd played LB in the academy but i didn't know that. He looked uncomfortable in that position today and i very much doubt he can become a LB for us. However, I'm judging on him playing there on todays performance only.

Is he fuck,

So ill he decided to travel back up to Manchester by himself rather than wait around London ?
Call me a cynic but I'm not sure the we're hearing the truth on Foden's continued absence. First it was ,'he isn't fit to play', next its 'he has a foot injury,' now its 'he travelled down with the squad but he didn't feel well so he's gone home'... Hmmm.
