The players not converting was a reason to change the players. Alvarez for KDB was an obvious change that could have happened way earlier. Also Mahrez for Foden or Grealish was an option. Or brining on Ake.

It can not be overstated that every blue knew Forest would score. Its in our genes.

Keeping a clean sheet would have won the game as well, something which we appear to be incapable of doing at the moment.

We’ve been poor defensively this year - a settled back four would help although I’m sure a lot of posters would absolve Guardiola of any blame on this front as well.

Can’t blame Pep for the poor misses. However, a lot called the last 15 minutes, and wanted to shut the game down. The rest is history.

We were creating enough chances not to tinker with personnel or tactics. Those on the pitch should have done their job.

I don’t think anyone can argue that Pep got his tactics wrong today. We were excellent for the majority of the game and should have won by at least 3 goals.

Where Pep does deserve to be questioned is for the lack of pragmatism in his management of the game. When you’ve missed sitter after sitter, hold a slender lead in an away game at the 80th minute, then the impetus should not be creating more chances but keeping a clean sheet.

Forest gambled by making a couple of attacking substitutions, which exposed us at the back. Is it any coincidence that their goal started down our left hand side? I mean we are playing a creative midfielder, one of the best in the world, at LB!

I feel for Pep at times. He’s been badly let down by the board in the full back position. Going into this season with two senior full backs was short sighted. Selling one of them in January without a replacement was negligent.

That said, there were options on the bench for Pep to use. Ake has been brilliant in the LB role all season and if we’re not going to use Philips in the situation we found ourselves in today, then the lad might as well not be here.

Everyone saw it coming. Ake on we win the game. Game management is shocking.

Ake on we win, don't even see how it's a debate his introduction completely shut down our left side against Arsenal and the goal yesterday came down our left side

He got it right on Wednesday then got it wrong yesterday

He has to take the good with the bad, and he made no attempt to secure the narrow lead when they were clearly growing into the game and our players, pretty much all of which played 90 mins in a frantic game against Arsenal, were flagging

His subs (or lack of) has always been his achillies heel, that's why we very rarely win games in dying stages of games

Pep should have liked de Bruyne earlier for Alvarez and brought on Aké for Laporte/Bernardo.

But the team should have converted more of our chances, our finishing was atrocious.

Unless he wants a break from football in general, where would he even go? La Liga isn't the attraction that it was in the early 2010s. On the face of it, there is no reason for him to leave. He's got his mates in Txiki and Ferran, he's got total control over his team, he's absolutely adored by the fanbase and he knows he'll have a genuine title race on his hands more often than not.

Pep was most definitely not to blame for the missed chances but it’s hard to justify why both Ake and Alvarez were virtually unused in the latter stages when certain players were flagging and Forest were revving up for a predictable equaliser.

Not only costly in points but a bit of a slap in the face for two highly worthy squad members.

Still, we can’t win em all and it was otherwise a good week to which Pep contributed big time.
