Boring, give me strength

I’ll tell you what’s boring , watching the team you support being an also ran whilst your rivals hoover up trophy after trophy

whats not boring is being the most feared team in the land with a squad talked about as one of the best of all time

I just dont think flair players work under pep he had the same criticism at Bayern, I think Pep prefers winger that work hard and are a part of the system than players that like to dribble past players, use skills etc have a bit of flair to them. Like Henry said Pep had a go at him when he scored because he didnt keep to the line/his position in a game at Barca. its why we haven't seen a Villa Grealish.
What like Messi.

Yeah listen we've been shite the past 2 matches but we really haven't been average this season. we've suffered from key injuries in bad timings, but I think we are much better than last season tbh

The obsession with shoehorning every possible midfielder into the team is really hampering us at present. We're totally wasting Bernardo out wide and we lack his legs in the middle. It's too easy to transition through a KDB, Gundogan and Rodri midfield.

I'm staggered that he didn't make a change yesterday.
It is staggering he didn't make the required changes.

Why i give him a 1/10 performance for not using all our options up from the Bench without a game for nearly 6 weeks.

Managers would give their left arm to have a Subs Bench like ours.

Yet we only really use it in games we are going to win.

We have seen time, and time again he rarely changes things in tight games. That Champions League game where we lost, and went out with all our Big Guns sat on the Bench springs to mind.

Why i doubt we will ever win the Champions League under Pep. Over a a season he is a good manager. We will steam roll most sides, lose a few and win Leagues. Personally i am happy with winning the League every season.

When it is high pressure one off games he out thinks himself, starts doubting himself. He will change what has worked so far, for something unproven and we will lose the games. We should have won the Champions League 2, possibly 3 times. I am not being arrogant and entitled. I believe we have been the best team in 3 Champions League campaigns and gone out to Pep bad in game management.

Like i said though. I personally will be happy winning the League every season. For that reason alone want him to remain our manager.

He’s won domestically 11 trophies if you include 2 charity shields for us yes he really is a shit manager

Pep is rarely the problem but what I would like to see for a short interlude in a game like that one on Saturday, and in future games if teams come to waste time and hope for a City mistake or some largesse from the whistling wanker, is a completely different approach. Why not take ten minutes doing what Brentford did? No, not the blatant timewasting, but giving the ball a mighty boot upfield like Eddie occasionally does and having a couple of players hanging about the half way line. Erling and Julian can run like the fuckin' wind so let's put defenders at the point where they have to deal with a different approach. Saturday, indeed most Saturdays, same with the women, our play is soooooooooo predictable! The other thing I've begun to notice is that our players make an obvious pass (well, obvious to me!) after weighing up three others and then deciding the first one was the best after all. Make the pass straight away, keep the ball moving. We weren't moving the ball anything like quick enough.
Where would the Brentford players be though? Surely not on the half way line with Julian and Erling?

Ederson is always looking for the long ball from a corner, when there's less defensive cover, but the rest of the time almost every team we play would have the back four at least midway in their own half. That means there's just not the room to run into.

Having to win a duel slows things down, and the players wouldn't be in a duel with a single player - almost certainly, if they win the ball, there would be at least another defender waiting to mop up. It succeeds against City when an attacker can isolate a single defender, something that our attackers rarely get the opportunity to do.

Against Liverpool Pep has tried to play over the top of them with limited success, as even they sit back and defend a lot more when they play us. I remember it working against Barca a few years back with Fernandinho acting as a target man, but they must be one of the only sides in world football that would try and play a high line against us.

It's more the not conceding leagues to Liverpool et al when playing more risky football as you suggested we would/might. There can be a balance, but Pep is slowly tilting the scale more toward risk adverse season by season. And as a result you can see the drop in quality, even from last year's team. This team isn't remotely the same. For one about 75% of our passes into the box now seem to be purely attempts to find Haaland, no-one else is playing centrally or operating in that space. It's becoming one dimensional. Reduced to mostly longshots vs Brentford as they were easily dealing with Erling.

And we haven't improved in the Champions League, still shitting the bed every season
We haven't improved? With the exception of Chelsea, we have been better at every single game of UCL for 2 years!! Liverpool were better than us 16/17. And we were not better than Tottenham at their stadium in 17/18. Clearly inferior to Lyon. We are way better and harder to beat now than before. And we are scoring just as much and receiving less goals than ever. What are you talking about?
