I will always say it, Pep’s undoing is Pep!
But for his funny attitude he could easily be the G.O.A.T of managers. He thinks he can do anything and get away with it. So many times in the past he has been a victim of his “brilliance.” Chelsea UCL finals comes to mind readily. We have little time to get a win and yet you delay bringing in Foden who should been playing 87 minutes earlier? Julian Alvarez should have been in that pitch earlier too.
We are very weak in attack despite having arguably the best finisher in world football and the reason for this is that we are low in creativity from wide areas and shoehorning Grealish on the left who is very very predictable doesn’t help to address this problem. Mahrez has his great moments but overall I am grossly underwhelmed by his contributions and I’d be seriously pushing for Pep to give Palmer, who is hungrier, the opportunity to put some fire in Mahrez’s ass whose demeanor right now speaks of one who really can’t be too bothered.
I understand that Foden has not been his best lately but his low point is much better than whatever Grealish has shown here. If you’re chasing the league, trailing by 5 points and in danger of slipping further, you need to inject some sense of urgency. You can’t really blame players for being sloppy when you yourself are sloppy in making decisions to. Hangs the course of the match.
