Pep is the problem though… he’s alienated our best players. Dias, Laporte, De Bruyne…

Kompany I would guess. Personally, and I know it won’t happen but I’d love Mancini to come back. Probably just me though ha.
In what way has Pep alienated those players?

Asking Lewis to play out of position and step into midfield against Spurs away at his age and level of experience? He was set up to fail. I thought he did ok under the circumstances but it was too big an ask. Not playing Ake at LB when we’ve got Dias and Laporte sitting on the bench seems bizarre even for Pep.
Absolute madness

I don’t think there’s anything like things going on like he’s lost the dressing room.

It’s as simple as we aren’t as good as we used to be. We have worse players and a generally a worse team than we have been. Our better players have left or are still with us and are either injured or have got older and aren’t as good.

Dias has been injured and when he came on the other week for fifteen minutes he felt his injury again. He simply not ready.

Laporte has had an operation and looks tentative and like he’s not up to proper speed. He’s only started four Prem games all season. Until he’s right, he’s simply a squad/Cup player at the moment.

This is a very hard League, to achieve what we have in the last five years is incredible and we have been spoilt. But things don’t last forever. Teams in the Prem are too good for us just to keep winning the league. As soon as anyone regresses, they are overtaken.
Agree with a lot you say. But whoever agreed to the Gomez, Akanji and Philips signings need to thin again about our transfer strategy. Let’s see about the dressing room.

Was going to say “of those one looks fine, one looks dodgy, you pick which is which”

But that’s the problem isn’t it? City must keep strengthening to kick on and a squad CB and a LB project doesn’t fit the bill when you compare them to the outgoings.

I'm afraid the Rico experiment will go down as one of the weirdest episodes in Pep's exceptional career. Don't get me wrong, Rico is a great talent, but benching top players to include him in strange formations is a self-inflicted problem and a huge gift for Arsenal.

Imo, Pep's the greatest ever but arguably needs fewer yes guys around him. Hope we can win something this season, not convinced it's likely to happen, though.

Would Sam Allardice be getting more out of Haaland and KDB and this set of players than Pep is? We’d certainly be creating more chances for Haaland that is a cert
