Pep Guardiola - 2022/23

I've said for some time that I think Pep will walk away from City (and football generally) when we win the CL. The treble would be the icing on the cake, but the CL is what he was appointed for.

Other than the ridiculous club world trophy thing, and £12m+ a year salary, there's nothing else for him to achieve at City.

I'd be more than happy to see Pep stay, but wouldn't be at all surprised to see a new coach at City next season.
No chance he’s leaving if he wins the champions league this season. I think he’s made it very clear several times that he loves it here, everything has been built for his system.

What a fucking bloke. As much as journos and fan's alike moan like fuck about our spending power, we all know that Pep is THE point of difference. He's pulled this team up by their bootstraps from it being completely derailed by cancelo and others being mardarses after the WC to creating the most effective incarnation of Pepball we have seen at the Etihad. Not to mention galvanizing us as a fan base after the Prem league charges. The best.

One of those situations where the apprentice was getting cocky so the master took him down a peg or two. schooled him.

Arteta may have learned from pep and is able to replicate his work but he cannot replicate his mind. He just doesn't have the genius pep has that allows him to constantly innovate to always stay ahead of the pack and have the entire league copying him.

There's no other manager in the World where you can see on the pitch so clearly the effect of their coaching and tactics. Wether it works or not (normally it does, obviously).

One thing is to come up with ideas, it's a totally different thing to communicate them and get everyone to completely buy into it.

That's what I'll miss the most when he goes.

Putting this in the Pep thread since they’re Pep’s tactics ultimately but interesting to hear KDB speaking in a bit more detail than what you usually hear from players about what we were trying to do.

He “overthought” it again with a number of significant tactical changes. Flat back four. Two holders. Long central balls bypassing the midfield. Nothing through the wings. A right footed left back. More fucking brain farts.
When I saw the team selection I immediately knew we couldn’t win. Walker for gods sake. Akanji at LB. Pep out.
