Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Poor choices today. Should have rotated. Tactics first half were okay, should have had something different up his sleeve for the second half, it was obvious they'd make adjustments to close gaps and suddenly our entire game suffered.

Odd decision to relegate Doku to a peripheral role tonight when he's been on fire recently, surely you just keep getting him the ball? hopefully he hasn't cooled his form. Big reason why we didn't take 3 points home sadly.

Picked a team that should have scored 5 or 6 tonight but for a bit of luck and some subpar finishing.

Most were happy with the team pre-match, dont think it's the strongest at the moment but also have to bear in mind Brentford on Sunday with the current injuries. Can't play the same XI every week as we saw at Arsenal (A), we were fucked at the end.

As I said, played decent football for the majority of the game, actually moved the ball much better and should have been out of sight.

He's also said a point in CL away games isn’t bad, so whilst not ideal, it certainly isn’t bad.

On to Brentford.

Nah I disagree, this is the same team that Brugge smacked and Monaco had a lot of injuries. Going off your post a point against Bodo Glimt is a good point…

The right hand side was so obviously going to be useless, aside from keeping possession for possession's sake. Don't know why it was persisted with for so long or how Bernardo stayed at RW all game. Baffling.

One thing I am beginning to get frustrated about, is how shite & lethargic we are at the start of the second halves. Tonight, Burnley, Arsenal - we seem surprised the opposition have renewed energy. Whatever is happening that takes us so long to get on the pitch, isn't helping

Bodo Glimt that drew to Spurs who smashed us?

Club Brugge who got beat away to Atalanta, who got beat away to PSG.

Liverpool got beat away to Galatasaray, who got smashed away to Frankfurt, who got smashed away to Atletico.

People need to stop underestimating away games in the Champions League, with fatigue, travel and level of opponent they are not easy games.

We should have won tonight, we created 5 or 6 clear cut chances, that is not Pep's fault, but 1 point from home isnt a bad result and its the way Pep has always treated CL games.

Yes that Bodo, unless your now saying that drawing to them will be a good result!?!

Exactly they got beat to Atalanta, so they aren’t that good yet battered Monaco. It’s definitely not a good point when your leading until late in the game! And once again balls it up.

This isn't a complaint on Pep but sometimes we look really slow.. especially in transition.

We had control but they were rapid in transition against us.. could have probably used subs a lot faster and more of them.

We are a slow team. This lack of pace will catch us out without total midfield control which we just don’t have anymore.

We looked vulnerable against Burnley at times and again tonight and these are not top sides. We need to find answers. Our finishing would be a start. Only Haaland seems capable of putting the ball in the net!

Disappointed at the stuffy equalizer but a good point in the new format.

Bodo/Glimt on a plastic pitch in the arctic circle in the middle of January. I'll tell you now, in those conditions, that's not an easy game for any side in Europe. Since they got back in Europe in 2020, 40 home games, 32 wins, 5 losses, 3 draws (1 turned into a loss in ET). Arsenal only beat them 1-0 3 years ago.

I'd probably expect us to win that one but it isn't the walkover people think it is.

From the way the game played out tonight I agree it's not ideal but in general a point away isn't bad.

He still hasn’t found a solution to the amount of counters we concede. Last season we were worse than relegated teams in conceding transitions and counter attacks it’s still the same now.

We look soft and easy to play through when defending transitions.

I don’t think the balance of the squad is optimal for what he wants. We have a lot more direct players than control type players which is why he’s forcing Bernardo in to the team. I suspect Kovacic will play a lot more than people realise when he’s fit.

Again playing Bernie on the wing gives you no control whatsoever, you're just killing the attack.

And if he does we'll win nothing, not because of kova, but because of what that says about the quality of the squad. Now someone is going to want to say how he was one of our best players last year and just know you are proving my point for me when you do that.

Bernardo kills the attack but he doesn’t lose the ball, which is my point… Away from home in Europe thats Pep’s biggest nightmare.
