Even Kovacic would've been better alternative as a 6 or to play as a double pivot with Bernardo. Reijnders has been poor for weeks and starting him out of position against Villa is just suicide.
 
Nonsense by Pep to play Reijnders who will need months to get used to PL intensity, like Cherki. Especially at Villa away. Madness.

No idea why Lewis didn't replace Reijnders after 60 mins to find some pockets in their tight defence.

The same same slow pace has been exactly what Villa have liked.

Might have been slightly better but would still have seen us weakening our overall system to compensate. Tough decisions need to be taken in the next 12 months so that the squad is better balanced.
 
Not sure what Pep thinks our rather fluid formation should be, but I feel like we are destined for a 3/5-2-3 and just don’t have the personnel that fit the mold.

O’Reilly and Nunes can get forward, but today O’Reilly looked like he was wearing concrete boots, both his touch and recovery pace. Nunes just doesn’t look like ANYONE knows what he’s going to do next…that LEFT FOOT SHOT in the dying minutes being a prime example!

Definitely need to splash the cash on a DM that can have immediate impact in January/Summer. Need two players in there, esp against stubborn sides like Villa. Maybe cash in on a winger?!
 
he and his staff has to work on set piece deliveries. other clubs work almost on nothing else lol by the look of it and it gets them regular goals.

our set pieces result in a dangerous counter more often than a shot on target. nonsense.

Entirely peps fault. I cannot begin to offer an explanation for why he didnt see the obvious problems we would have in midfield with that lineup. What did he think would happen? What happened was exactly what I and most of the pre-match thread thought would happen when I saw the lineup and I cannot offer any alternative way that games pans out.

He had Bernardo on the pitch and had him being a pointless 1 man front press when he is was the only midfielder on the pitch capable of making a tackle and controlling the game for us and favoured reijnder who shouldn't even be on the pitch nevermind in a position he cannot play.
