Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Pep got that glint back in his eyes and a more chilled body language smiling. He knows something is cooking.

yep I think it’s the new coaches around him and developing the new younger players!

Main reason I believe he has that Glint, is Gonzales! he loves a 6, he has seen how Gonzales has learned took on board what Pep has coached him for the position and Pep believes he can do it meaning now we don’t have to rely on Rodri and we can give him as much time as he needs to get back…

Seems like the back 4 and Nico is pretty settled in terms of average positioning. The only thing that changes match to match from here I think is how wide or narrow the wingers go and how attacking Reinjders/ Bernardo go. Bernardo the more conservative option dropping in to help Nico and Reijnders more of a license to drive forward.

Will all vary depending on opposition set up but largely the plan is to have 2 or three around Haaland at all times, keep the width from either the wingers or the fullbacks to stretch teams and capitalise on the space in behind, or in the pockets by drawing them out with numbers.

Onwards and upwards from here.

Had flashbacks from Feyenoord, was thinking at the time he should of made the subs earlier when Dortmund brought on fresh legs.

Bernardo and Dias settled the team after.

He will become the 119th manager in history around the world to reach this milestone. His win percentage is the best of the lot. Even his worst spell at Barcelona B would make him second on the list, all his other spells would still make him el numero uno.

Truly remarkable.

Here’s a complete breakdown of all the games he’s coached across every club.

I still think there will be an announcement into the new year that Pep and the club are parting way and a new manager is coming in who that is god only knows. The whole club just needs a refresh even when we win the style of play is brutal to watch, the club struggling to sell tickets and transfers have been horrendous. We are going backwards at a rate of knots and I get the belief that we are in transition. That transition started last January and not one transfer has any excitement that will put bums on seats not one transfer has a set of bollox on in them to pull this squad back to where it was bar the keeper. Pep ain’t stupid he knows this he’s always said managers are judged on results. He’s the one that stuck by the old guard too long he’s the one that wants small squads with a lot of injury problems.
Pep will see out the season like Klopp and fingers crossed he’ll get us over the line for a top 4 finish
What the fuck is this shite. Jesus wept.

It's funny when people talk about Pep's "new tactics". His attacking formations are always the same for many years.

All depends of how opposition team defends. If they play a back five then we attack with six men up front, for example. Positional play works creating numerical advantages.

The only variations is who occupies the space. For example, a right winger attacking position can be for the right winger staying wider, or can be for the wing back and then the right winger turns into the half space.

Since Haaland is "one man less into possession", Pep tries to play one extra man in the middle. That's the reason for the 3-box-3, and now for the 3-1-3-3.

The way to get 6 up front against Bournemouth was 4-2-3-1 with wingbacks and inside wingers. But the formation is nothing new.

For example Liverpool main defensive problems are in their sides. Their wingers doesn't help. So it would be logical isolate their fullbacks with our wingers and get 1vs1 situations. But maybe Pep use the same formation against Bournemouth overloading the middle and getting the wingbacks wider. We'll see. Five players in the middle are almost impossible to defend numerically.
