Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Yeah I get that point but also what a brutal way to give some of the subs a chance to perform in a starting eleven. Maybe some of them would have done better in a more fluid team that's had more time to gel together on the pitch.
Thing is, the entire starting lineup just went to play for the national team, some of them even had to play 2 matches, maybe they are all exhausted. Not to mention an away trip to Newcastle.
The only exception is Nico G, since he wasn't called up, so he played tonight.

Was this the big "two fingers" to the board?

This is what you've bought me, kind of thing.

I mean there's a clear best 11 that has been played an unusual amount of times this year, this 11 felt very very left field and had something of a protest about it.
How much more fucking money does he want. I’m sick of this bollocks.

Whether Pep fucked the line up tonight or not, the harsh reality is, with the brutal schedule soon coming in, eventually the bench players will have to play. He gave this match a chance to 10 out of 11 players to prove that they can be trusted. And none of them made a point.
It would be foolish to think that they could perform as a team when they’ve been starved of game time. They looked like 10 guys that have been regularly facing off against the first 11 in that they passed the ball nicely and made good runs but didn’t want to tackle and had no physical bite. Guardiola has to assimilate them far better than he has, otherwise it’ll be cameos against Brentford and then the FA Cup. In the meantime, the ‘first 11’ will be run into the ground and we’ll tail off in spring again.

Sure but don't make 10 changes in a CL game we need to win especially considering we've only got Leeds at home in the league.

Like he's got absolutely no say in the transfer market, he allowed Palmer and Alvarez to go along with the board and preferred to keep Lewis and Savinho.
Yeh our transfer strategy over the last 2/3 years is biting us and will continue to do so until we start shopping for elite level players.

Yes Alvarez has been excellent for Atleti, and I don't think attitude was a problem with Palmer, he just wanted to play.

Don’t know how Messi, Ronaldo and countless others managed it week in week out for 15 years
