Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Don't be ridiculous. You don't harm your own season to prove a point. He simply made a mistake.
I wouldn’t say losing this game has harmed the season. I just can’t fathom Pep thinking this team was ever going to get anything today. Thats a team you put out against Port Vale, never seen him do it in the CL. 4/5 changes from the weekend yeah but 10? Hmm

What point would that be?
I'm bigger than the club, I can do what I like, sack me if you dare?
He says all the right things rarely id =f ever bags individuals but he knows the squad isn't good enough and tonight was another example of this.

Sure he takes the blame and he should but this squad isn't up to what Pep wants and needs , he is tinkering at the edges but in a weak Premiership this season Arsenal will romp it in and we have gone backwards.

When you look at some of the players we have had and compare it to this team along with the last couple of the aging squad its like chalk and cheese.

Much better transfers are required to get us back to where we need to be if we are to be serious contenders for titles.

As for the Chumps League we probably will limp into the knock out stages and fall at the first hurdle.

We need to be careful or we could soon end up on a winter run like last year.
This time Pep will crack and be off one way or another.

The first 15 minutes or so were amazing control.. better than the first 11 vs Newcastle.. but then we ran out of gas and the first goal killed us and gave them confidence.

So there in is the dilemma.. does Pep go with control or lack of it?

Also I'm not entirely sure Pep can make the system work with Donnarumma. Trafford may have had a silly moment with Stones but he wasn't at fault for either goal tonight. If anything his distribution was good.

It was the midfield and the wingers that killed us. Oh and a slow defense. Omar barely got a chance.. Haaland wasted two and that was the game.

Sad to see talking himself deeper and deeper in the shits in the presser...
Scratching himself again and again, so weak. Sad to see really.
Not a good presentation at all.

Listening to him about his players I wonder if he understands their individual situations. It sounds as if they are just chess figures to him.
The psychological aspect of this unrealistic plan tonight makes the whole squad weak, himself even more and also the coaching staff for not stepping in.

Hope they all keep cool, have a good open word in the next training session and then Bernardo and Ruben have to do a fucking big job to bring the story back on track to where we`ve been before the intl break.

What a fuckup, without any need.

He'll be gone at the end of the season if it's another trophyless one. Maybe we do need a fresh start. Vinny would be my choice, think it will be very difficult to get him though

Weird Pre & Post game interviews on top of his antics at Newcastle.

This is Wenger esque now from Pep, slow turgid football that lacks end product, instead it's sideways and backwards. With the only bright spark being Haaland. Last season and now this season its the same slow football same fragility in midfield, same inconsistent tactics and game management.

Maybe anything to do with his divorce during intl break?

Really have no clue where this has been coming from now.

I don't buy for a second that players came back exhausted after playing not even full minutes vs European B or C national teams.

It's not that he picked the wrong players for tonight imo. He just hasn't them drilled in a system that works in the modern game.

We get away with is now and again because a few players are genuinely awesome but not enough. The rest need help to be at their best and instead this same old system chokes them.

Also please no more blaming refs, var, officials, too many games, etc etc. At least not until we are regularly playing with something that looks like attractive positive powerful football. Like we used to under Pep and before.

They can also fk off with “other team had x shots and all went in”. Feeble mentality

Well according to the 'tabloids' he's buying a mega Villa back in Barca, so maybe he will be off in 2026. Just wonder if the dreaded '115' has affected him & the club, particularly in buying top players instead of the dross we've bought recently.

He admitted the mistake in selection.

But it's still worrying to see that starting line up and put Marmoush as a 9.

Alot of it is not his fault though, Savinho has regressed alot.

Bobb and Reijnders did create some chances atleast but Ake failed to convert and Marmoush as the 9 ahead was not a good fit for those 2.

Lewis and RAN came in with limited minutes in their legs and while Lewis looked okay, RAN contributed very little on the left side as did Savinho.

Shocking but yet not surprising if that makes any sense.

I’d love to know what gets said at these half time team talks, we always come out worse than when we went in, no leaders like Vinny or Fern anymore at City.
