Pep Guardiola - 2025/26

Pep being a misery about Cherki’s rabona is the least surprising development from today’s aftermath.

Hope he doesn’t kill that creativity and spark out his game. He obviously wouldn’t have done it at 1-1/if we were losing, but football is entertainment - that’s what people pay their money for, to be entertained - so I’d hate to see our manager discourage that type of thing from our players.

Let those with the ability to do it, do it. Be free and have fun, that’s when they’ll perform best.

Sadly, Pep doesn't know how to manage talented players...

Pissed off at him for pissing on everyone’s chips about Cherki’s assist.

Especially while praising Savio’s appalling performances and forcing him on us.

Think it’s pretty disheartening, tbh. Feel for Cherki. It’s a real dick move.

I think I the crowds reaction to Cherki when coming off, and the audible groan when Savio came in is all he needs to know.

As soon I saw Cherki's assist for Foden on the big screens at the ground I knew Pep would be pulling him aside in the dressing room and saying "Listen, that might have worked on this occasion, but that's a 1% chance so don't do that shit again". It's the type of manager he is and he does know better than us - not sure how you can be surprised or disappointed by it by now after a decade.

We wouldn’t have scored or had an attempt at goal if he hadn’t crossed it like that, simple as that, we scored and he comes out with that shit, fucking disappointing to say the least

I've been very critical of Pep these last few months but he's literally always been this way and acting like he hasn't seems a bit silly.

Yeah I was a little miffed with his comments about work over skill re Rayan - would have been nice if he mentioned the other 3 assists he should have had - we finally have a player that can potentially replace the assist king. Let him do his thing and have the right balance around him. We can't be a team full of Bernardo's like we can't be a team of Cherkis.

On the other hand he may just be saying these things to pee off the press.

After constant passing sideways, backwards, pivot, etc, it was lovely and refreshing to see a piece of individual skill that created a goal. And what does Pep do, complain about it. If I was Cherki, I would be pretty annoyed about Pep’s comments.

So you think Pep’s comments are valid about Cherki’s rabona in the Sunderland penalty area that created Foden’s goal, which secured the game for Pep and City?
I think he's trying to keep Cherki's feet on the ground so he keeps improving. Just like I think he's trying to boost Savinho's confidence by singling him out for praise.

If you can't tell what he's doing 9 years in, I don't know what to tell you.

Pep is a pain at times and a smart arse, why bring up messi who no fucker gives a shit about, Praise Cherkis talent you misserable twat ;-)
The fans and Phils joy in his face tells you all you need to know, people love to be entertained.

As for Savinho comments on him playing many minutes, well Pep suck the life out of the atmosphere moan and replace the rare cheers today with more groans and flatness
saying he is trying to boost his confidence, well continually playing him when he was poor has built an animosity in the stands and doubling down rather than recognising the lad needs to be taken out of the spotlight for a bit won't improve the now audible negative comments.
