Pep: I would have been sacked at Barca or Bayern.

He didnt handle the Yaya thing very well though, and he's been class since he came back in
he was forced to recall Toure. 1) You can see he has lost a lot of weight but his legs are still gone. 2) Gundogan got injured. That's why he's back. I agree Toure is quality on the ball, but he's lost so much from his game that he's at best a squad player. Should have been replaced 2 season ago.

To be honest, as much as anything I think he was praising the club for their patience and giving him time to get it right, which he might not have been afforded at his previous clubs.

people seem to take offence at things so much more easily nowadays.

seems to me as i've said elsewhere peps getting an easy ride off most of our fans just because hes Pep Guardiola! Imagine any other manager saying this crap about our club there would be uproar, but people are accepting it because his reputation is going before him.

I'm fuming with him this season for doing so shite and i expected so much more esp seen as Pellegrini finished exactly the same position we could end up finishing, won us the league cup and got us to our best ever finish in the champions league with near enough the exact same squad!

Imo hes got till this time next season to prove us all wrong. No player or manager is bigger than the club. but it looks to me Pep thinks he is!

The second part of your sentence is exactly why he handled it perfectly.

For someone who supposedly doesn't show us blues much respect, Pep did a fantastic job of telling someone bringing embarrassment to our club to shut the fuck up.

On top of that, he made Yaya get in shape and play his best football for at least two seasons.

Delusional. As I say, let's hope we never find out and Pep learns the lessons of this season.
What lessons are they? What has he done wrong?

The goal-keeping situation was a disaster but you can see why he tried to change. Is that a mistake, or just a risk you take when you change keepers?

Kompany got injured. Crucial. But out of control

The other problems are down to City buying poorly over recent windows so that an ageing team has not been renewed.

In short, he has inherited a team that needs rebuilding and that can't be done in one season.

He's been our best player consistently for weeks, i see no evidence of legs going, in fact i see him putting more of a shift in now than in his 'pomp'

I believe "fan" is short for fanatic. I definitely a fanatic for Man City but not for Pep on the evidence so far!

Fair enough and i much prefer the term supporter.

I just think its a tad unfair to have a go at those who support the club and thus its players and manager and claim them to be like Utd fans that's all.

I think it's worse than that. Nothing wrong with statements like "I have learnt lessons". The problem is - what are they? Straight after he was quoted saying "I have learnt lessons" - the very next game he brought Bravo back and played Kolarov in the middle. So I would love to know what he has learnt. In this decade before this season we had the best record in the Premier League - which is 5 or 6 years. And we had a number of players (despite the "ageing squad") that would get in any other Premier Lge side
Khaldoun expressed disappointment last summer in no uncertain terms. It will be interesting to see what he thinks now. In Pep's defense it is his first stab at it. And the trajectory under MP was downward. But it has not been a successful season.

Interesting judgement.
To give it value you might give adequate and sufficient reasons for it being ridiculous. Have the expectations of Pep's management been met?
The value is not judging him on his first 12 months and to take into account his previous record in management. To take into account how many footballers at the very top of the tree compliment him regularly. To take into account the size of the job he had on his hands and the changes needed to be implemented before we can become the team he wants us to be.
Have expectations been met? Tough one really, I'm sure he himself will be a little disappointed that we've finished the season empty handed but I personally wouldn't say the season has been a complete failure. Plenty to work on but I've seen enough to remain confident he'll be a success with us before he leaves.

Nah legs have gone, no more power runs with the ball etc

David has been our most consistent player imo, without him we're nowhere near as good

Take a look at his goals scored, and assists. He has one gear: jogging. I accept he has been our single-most influential player, but he's way gone. You are seduced by very accurate sideways passing.

That's the way a lot of us took it. Sounds more like gratitude at being afforded a chance to get it right which in this day and age of football is rare.

Sounds to me, he's paving the way for a get out.

You don't agree with people having opinions different than yours ?

Begs the question......Why are you on a forum ?

Is it not the fact you just cant handle him saying he doesn't agree with your opinion?

if so why are you on here?

No, people can have their opinions and I can call them out on them if I think they're full of shit.
This is the only forum I'm a member of, I'm on it because I'm a life long blue who joined up because I liked the idea of engaging with other blues and this one was the only decent one about.
Sadly, the change in the membership since we became successful has deteriorated and the knee jerkers have replaced a lot of genuine blues who have given up on the place.
