Pep Ljinders appointed as assistant coach | James French joins as set-piece coach (p15)

I think Linders has had a big impact. The team are much more proactive in possession and are moving the ball much faster than last season. More direct without becoming a lump it long team. Pep suggested as much in his interview yesterday joking that he was now “assistant manager.”
We also put more subs on - & earlier in the game!

The set pieces are better than last season.
Not having De Bruyne taking floaty corners is a big plus on that front.

Kev was the best in-play passer of the ball and high degree goal assister I’ve ever seen in the sport, those crosses he used to curl into the ‘corridor of uncertainty’ were out of this world:

Yet his corners were often tragic.

Foden puts a much better corner in. Even he’s not great, but you can see the difference with Foden on them now.

I’d want to give him a chance at the helm if Pep G leaves

It all depends on if the team think he's an asset.

Remember what happened at the Rags where the team thought they knew more than Moyes and rebelled.

Where as at the Dippers. you had successful transitions of Shankly - Paisley - Fagan - Daglish (manager to assistant, manager to assistant, and eventually manager to player)

If his brilliance is valued and respected, it could happen. Players will go an extra mile if they respect and value the manager!

I disagree and it's my one gripe with Foden.

He's not a dead ball specialist.. and we desperately need one.

Still remember 21-22 fondly where we scored 17 goals off corners and only gave up 1.

Really ?
I'm sure City are still one of the least likely teams to put early subs on, or use all 5 subs.
The game v Forest was very unusual in that only 4 subs were used (2 for each team), with only c. 25 minutes played in total, by the 4 subs.
With City's hectic January fixture schedule, let's hope City do use all 5 subs, to allow key players not to be drained by playing 90+ minutes every game...

I wasn’t comparing us with other clubs’ substitutions - just saying that we use our subs earlier & more frequently than we used to

Should Pep not get the same treatment as the England Woman Coach and become an Honorary Sir

Success with an England team is different. Besides, we already have an honorary knight within the club, a certain Sir Mansour.
