We did the Cup double, the Women won the WSL, and I hope the U-18s are there too. There's more than enough reason to parade our trophies.
 
I still think he thinks he still has things left to achieve here. Theres been times during the season where he has looked done particularly Jan time. However the past 6-8 weeks I have never seen him so fresh and enthusiastic. Perhaps because he knows it coming to an end?

Either way it must tug on the heart strings for him to make any decision on his future decision. He has already had great personal loss for signing his last extension. He also knows he has the love of the board players and fans, I am adamant the club would let him retire here if it was an option.

Difficult either way.
 
Peps going nowhere and wouldn't surprise me if he stays a couple more years, but we know as soon as the season starts the media will be never ending talking about him leaving and rubbing there hands together and getting excited about the prospect of him leaving our club, cunts.

i maybe letting my heart rule my head, but i think he'll stay and even extend again later next season.

Hes got the perfect job, he eats sleeps and drinks football. he wont get another job like he has now. hes building the next great city team i believe anyway.

This is the part I find hard to get my head round. Media suggesting this year or that he sees out his contract - but also saying he loves this team and is full of energy. Sounds to me as much like him signing a new contract as leaving, but we'll find out soon enough I guess.

However, I just heard the other day though that our final game of the season v Villa he overtakes Les McDowall as having been in charge of City for the most matches. The new stand (named after him?) and beating that record might be a fitting way to go.

In terms of Maresca, I don't mind. He's obviously worked with Pep and has tactical similarities, did well with Leicester - a mixed bag at Chelsea, but that club is mental. Vinny has shown though at Bayern that struggling somewhere doesn't mean you can't succeed at a big club.
 
All very weird tbh, i wonder if it all depends on if we win the league or not? Maybe he wants to go out winning it, or giving it a better shot at least - wherever we finish this season its never really felt like we've *deserved* winning it..

They did this for about the last decade of Taggart's reign, and every year or two our hearts would sink with the next contract extension. Boot's on the other foot now.
 
Guardiola has won more major trophies in his ten years than any other coach in their best ten years. Bob Paisley is the closest but when you strip out Charity Shields, Guardiola is easily superior. He has done this in a far more intense environment with greater competition in UK and Europe and many more games played. Add the cream on top that he has changed the way football is played from the top down to grass roots level, he is absolutely unique.

But both those things are true. And don't contradict each other in any way. I don't see the issue.

He explicitly said he will be here next year, with a one word answer. When asked 'definitely', he said he has a contract. When asked for the third time in 12 seconds for next season, he rolled his eyes abd gave that response. To me, that felt more like 'stop asking me now at this point' rather than a riddle.
 
But Foden, who was an unused sub at Wembley, would love to see the 55-year-old stay on at City.

"To play with him now for so many years has been a blessing," he said. "He’s certainly helped my game.

"I’m really happy that he’s still here at the moment and let’s see what happens at the end of the season. Hopefully he can be here next season.
