Pep to leave at the end of the season

Probably, but at least he was already a legend of the club as a player and loved. That was a risk that payed off as Pep was a unknown quantity as a manager having only really coaching Barcelona B. Marseca isn't. He was sacked at Parma, he got Leicester promoted which is a good achievement, but hardly elite level stuff. As for Chelsea granted he won the Europa conference league, but without Google I bet you couldn't tell me half the teams they beat to win it? Let's not forget West Ham win that same competition and Palace could do next week. Granted they beat PSG in that micky mouse world club cup, but again they had a easy run the final. And lastly this season he was on a run of like one win in seven when he left Chelsea. So if it is him, I honestly don't see what he has done to warrant the job. I'll back him, hope he absolutely smashes it out the park. Doesn't change the fact I think he's a very lucky boy to be even in the conversation.
If he's not up to it then we'll go again. A massive clear out and some new blood in will be a good start.

If things really are that murky around it all, then just as easily argued he was in on it and playing along to throw people off the scent, as Pep cand the club clearly wanted to defer that speculation till the end of the season. He also reportedly spoke to Fenerbache as well, not just clubs in italy. Or, he simply wanted contingencies, if it wasn't all done, either through his own paranoia or a courtss sign from someone at City. I can buy that it may have been a move to push City along, but don't really believe it. I can however buy that he/his team leaked the one Holt published. That's madness.

I know I repeat this as much as Pep's 'one year left on my contract' now, but it is factual, so I'll put it there again. They are not rushing the north stand, that's become a loose runaway myth. It is running late.

It's always this murky, sadly.

Yes but you're comparing a fan sitting in the bar with his mates to a supposed talented coach. Delap? good lord! Sorry but I'm not convinced at all and it has a Rags hiring Moyesy kind of feel which doesn't bear thinking about.
He worked with him in the academy so maybe he knows more about Liam than you, who would be closer to the fan sitting in a bar than Enzo is.

I kind of think there’s still a chance that he’ll stay for one more year, just like Red Nose did. A man of his stature probably doesn’t want to walk away without one last big Premier League or UCL trophy in his hands.

I heard a slight variation on that story. Yes the bit about Shankly hanging around training sessions was, apparently, true. But Paisley was a quietly spoken man. And was seemingly afraid/in awe of Shankly and was reluctant to say anything to the Scot. So he went to the board of directors and asked if one of them could have a quiet word with Shankly. Which they did, and the issue was pretty much sorted overnight. Shankly seemingly didn't take it too well, and started going to Everton's training ground. And complained that he was treated better by Everton than he was by Liverpool.
The man had football running through his veins , he just loved football

I'm the same. I can't for the life of me understand what Maresca has done in management that warrants him getting the City job. I can take Pep going, im gutted but he's given us 10 unbelievable years and deserves to go how/when he wants, but Maresca? Nah blows my mind. Only caveat to that is the level of elite managers seems pretty low at the moment.
i'd of gone for carrick unbeaten got in champions league and available
