Pep to leave at the end of the season

Did you watch all of the Bernardo videos, cos one shows him walking out onto the pitch with the FA Cup to all the other trophies he's won laid out in the middle of the pitch. It was definitely for him
Ah right no haven't seen that one, just seen the one when he's sat with them all behind him. Fair enough

I genuinely don’t understand as - bearing in mind our success - & the expectations of fans for the club to improve in regard to getting best players etc - we are a top global club yet according to everything I read, we don’t have the dearest tickets & have made more STs available by increasing capacity

Not arguing mate but trying to look at it logically

We don’t have a problem shifting season tickets, it’s matchday tickets on sale or that appear on the exchange that are resulting in empty seats.

It’s the one off charge of £50+ for an adult and £20/£30+ for a junior that’s the problem. We are a big club with a big local fanbase but with regards to tourists, we’re nothing compared to the Rags.

I work in town and use Picc train station every week day, even for midweek games they have train full’s of people pouring out from here, there and everywhere. Irish, Scottish, Welsh, southern accents.

When we’re at home, it’s mostly commuter trains from Gt Manchester full of blues and the club has priced out many locals.

Until something is confirmed on the Man City official website, Pep is still manager at the club. That said, the silence from the club is now deafening on the basis that every news outlet has announced he is leaving. Whilst it's nice for Pep and Khaldoon to have a chat, but if they already know that Pep is going then City should get control of the comms and put something out there to close the loop. I hope Pep stays. I don't think he will stay, but until City communicate something, anything is possible. And remember, Liam Gallagher said Pep's staying...LOL

They are supposed to be good mates so you never know

I actually think Pep could have all his bags packed and be in the departure lounge, but then change his mind. If that happened, Khaldoon would drop everything to fly in from Abu Dhabi to keep him. There's zero chance that Pep leaves on anything other than his own terms.
Without a doubt, he’s deserved to go whenever he chooses, he’s never stopped players leaving and if he feels it’s the right time he goes with the blessing and good wishes of the vast majority of Blues, apart from the ungrateful ones, some of who, masquerade as supporters on here.

Ah. Ok thanks

As everybody seems to be speculating here's my two pence worth...

What's probably occurred has Pep's said a good while ago he'd be leaving at the end of this season. To him it felt so far in the future that he was comfortable with that decision. Since then he seemed to have got his mojo back, things beginning to click with an almost entirely fresh squad and working with Pep2 had reinvigorated him. He knows there's potentially another chapter there in his reign at City. As the time has approached it has now fully dawned on him the magnitude of leaving. He's probably exhausted and needs a proper break, but realises in 6 months time or whatever he'd be fully recharged and would love to be able to walk back into the club.

I think he knows he's not getting it better anywhere else. The amount of control he has, the mutual love everybody has for him. Some are suggesting he might go into international football, but I personally think he'd hate that as he is so OCD. Can you imagine the amount of face scratching he'd do with players pulling out of his squads for questionable reasons? Not being able to work with players on a day to day basis etc.

I'd love him to continue, but if his decision is to leave I hope it isn't something he is going to regret in a few months time.

I have. All the Chelsea and Leicester fans I've spoken to have really talked him up. I know a few of each, and I've talked about Enzo among other things with 'em and always heard positives. He is regarded as a very intelligent man and an effective coach, who achieved for their respective clubs, and that being taken away from them dealt them damage in both cases.

Do you think they preferred Rosenior or Cooper & Van Nistelrooy, by the way? I can assure you that is not the case, decidedly so.
Just google “Leicester fans not happy with Maresca” or replace Leicester with Chelsea and you’ll see a lot of fans were not enamoured with him.

It’s a far cry from those Leicester and Chelsea fans you have “talked to”, think there’s an element of being economical with the truth in your post, seems a bit subjective.

Does anyone think he’s taken City as far as he can? Looking at it that way…

This group of players and the rumoured incomings Anderson/Maza, the thought of new energy and fresh approach etc etc….

If a new manager wants to take us further than Pep has taken us then they need to post a 100+ points season, win 5 PLs on the bounce, win two domestic trebles and two trebles with the CL or one quadruple.

It’s a measure of what Pep has achieved that this is what is required to beat his record. Putting it in context it is effing insane what he has done. It is even more insane that he has normalised this level of achievement and brought us to the point where a second place finish and winning two domestic trophies is regarded as below par.
