Pep to leave at the end of the season

No, you LITERALLY said
"With a new squad of players, a new coach will be learning not only about their individual playing strengths and weaknesses, but also about the relationships that they all have between each other. We've all seen players that excel in the company of some, but struggle when playing with others. He can't glean any of that from Opta stats. A huge ask in such a short amount of time."

To which I replied:
" if Maresca would struggle to cope when he's likely to be taking over at the end of a season then I'm not exactly sure what you think the ideal time would be?"

So quite frankly I'm not even sure you know what your point is. I certainly
BECAUSE THERE ISN'T A WORLD CUP EVERY SUMMER! Unless the players can be in two places at one time this results in a far shorter pre-season.

Do you know what? Say what you want - you have a habit of completely missing the point of posts to which you reply.

Try reading one all the way through first next time.

But there is a difference when players know Pep and his system, and when they are meeting a new manager for the first time.
I know, if it's Maresca he wouldn't be a stranger to all the players anyway but I still maintain a full pre-season is sufficient time for any new manager. Not having an existing relationship can sometimes be an advantage too btw.

I’m not bothered whether we’re a global powerhouse of a football club though. We’re Manchester City and if local lads and girls can’t watch our club because he’s chasing tourists then that’s not worth the silverware the money has brought in.

I’m not for one second saying Soriano has done no good, because he has, but this didn’t need to happen.
100% this.

I’d gladly take a hit on our “global power rankings” if it meant we had a CEO who actually listened to and gave a fuck about the core fanbase.

I’ve said this on here before but I’ll be forever grateful to Garry Cook for what he did for this club. Respected the fans a million times more than Sorriano ever did and I couldn’t give a fuck about the P&L sheet if that success means alienation and pricing out of the “legacy” fans.

Sorriano sees us as an inconvenience. Cook saw us as regular repeat customers who needed service and respect. There’s the difference.

A guy I know that works at Blockbuster said Pep's just returned all his DvD's and paid his overdue fines in one go. It's happening.

My mum was head of housekeeping at City for thirty years.

She has never attended a game, outside of the FA Youth Cup Final against United in 86 and another Final away at Watford, because she wanted to support the lads like Lakey when they were coming through.

She is 74 now and for the first time in my lifetime, she has asked to come to the game with us on Sunday to say goodbye to Pep and the other players.

It will feel bizarre having her sit next to me but she's excited as hell.

Pep really did a good job!!

I hope she’s a member, has 5 million points and isn’t using someone else’s seasoncard on a burner phone, mate.

;)
