Pep to leave at the end of the season

But football at the end of the day is an entertainment industry, so surely everyone could think as they wish, especially when it gives them joy to shit on rivals or whatever is their motivation (its childish though, isnt it?).

Arsenal has stayed ouf ot trophies for a long time. Trophies could be a very accidental thing and they do not tell the whole story about level or capabilities of the football team/player/coach etc. You wouldnt ever find a gem among coaches or assistants, becasue plenty great talents had not achieved anything of note before getting to the top teams etc.

Its about what level you are competing at and Arsenal been in the past for years far from top bracket of teams in world football, even fair distance away from the UCL places. Massive improvement under Arteta is clear, they may win PL and UCL this year, which is mind blowing, they were in semi final last year and actually been equal if not better than PSG. And last year they won over Real very convincingly. Thats what i mean by a great competing at the highest level. Its not all about trophies and ultimately its clear hes gonna get more than two. Even such historical club with generational players or coaches as Arsenal has never won UCL. All the players and coaches at Arsenal been shit or what are You on?

You may also ask people like Pep or anybody reasonable in football industry and everybody would tell you this simple truth, that Arteta is fantastic, top class football coach.

Its no coincidence that Arteta is among highest paid coaches in the world too. And yeah, talk is cheap, but when money gets involved, then people think twice about a right amount for anybody's services. And by people i mean professionals who spend their daily life upon industry, not various people on football club forum.
 
So do we have all the answers now as to why pep is leaving? Or is it all noise to fill a void and make some money? -:)

He is leaving (A) his decision or (B) his decision.

Wall to wall coverage from the gutter social and mainstream. They want him gone so city return to a level the Red clubs can compete at. Anything else is lies.

Apparently, the journo had lunch with Hitler and then Pep got pissed off as someone from Burnley said bad things about him on twitter. Therefore, given these bombshells, Pep is off. Arteta is a moaning insufferable wanker. We made the mistake training him alongside pep. Spent more money than the rest. He should be winning and did. That’s it.

Like you say, football is entertainment - and if I were a season ticket holder at Arsenal, I know for a fact I wouldn’t be satisfied that the football I was paying all that money to see qualified as ‘entertainment’ in any logical, meaningful sense of the word.

Does it get results? This season it has, but there hasn’t been a lot to show for the previous six years, whilst Arteta worked his way towards finally settling on his title winning formula.

And I’m perfectly willing to accept when one of our rivals has a world class coach.

Klopp came across as an insufferable **** of a man - a raging, wildly unfettered ego gland, firing off arrogant, self-congratulatory tirades with scarcely a moment’s encouragement - but he was an exceptional coach, and his Liverpool team was hugely entertaining to watch. And if he hadn’t suffered the misfortune of being up against Pep’s City during his peak years, he’d have won a lot more trophies than he did.

So it’s not necessarily all about trophies. It’s as much about their approach to the game, the tactics they employ, and their capacity to innovate in the ideas they bring to their teams.

In my view, Arteta achieved very little of any note in six years before this season using ideas he’d learned under Pep, then decided he’d change tactics completely - and try to win by strangling the life out of the game, breaking up play constantly, abandoning any attempt to score from open play, and playing for set pieces, with the emphasis on focusing tactical fouls around the execution of those set pieces to improve their margins.

Pragmatic - I’d agree with that.

Cynical - absolutely.

Entertaining - not for me.

People talk about Allardyce and Pulis in reference to Arteta because the tactics he’s emphasised are essentially the same as theirs.

It may have been effective this year, but it’s hideous to watch - and it’s not an approach that’s built for the long term.

And even then, they came a whisker from losing it all to a pretty average City team by our own standards.

I’m not being tribal when I say I can’t see anything special in him as a coach. I’m happy to admit when we’re up against someone special, and this guy simply does not qualify into that category for me.

Yes you would, all you would care about is that you were winning a lot of matches. I don't really remember how we played under Mancini I just remember we won a lot more than we ever have before (in my lifetime). The notion that every single one of the 60,000 people that go to the emirates are somehow wired differently to City fans is ridiculous. No end of fans of opposing teams think Pep's teams "pass people to death" that isn't true either, but you already knew that.
