Pep's contract situation | 1 year extension + optional 1 year (p1752)

It's obviously fantastic news but i never really had any concerns he wouldn't sign on so I'm not as ecstatic as others.

It's just not his time. When he does leave, he will go after being responsible for producing one of the best seasons yet under him. perhaps not in terms of trophies as we are unlikely to reach treble heights again but the football we produce will be a glorious peak Pep brand of football to rival the centurions to sign off on. He will not leave on a down year.

Get the big money spent in january and thr summer, give us a much needed refresh and let him work his magic once again with a new era before leaving us equipped to continue to dominate. That is the only way for the greatest manager ever to bow out.

Assuming that this is true, would he have signed the extension if the club believed bad news was coming down the line re a certain three digit number? I'm guessing that Pep is being kept fully informed (in an Everton styleee) of developments.
What is there to inform him about? The club can have no real idea of how it's progressing, good or bad. we've insisted we've done nothing wrong from the start, we've told pep that, and are in the process of trying to show that, nothing will change in that regard until the panel give their verdict. Him signing a new contract if indeed he has, doesn't give us an indication about the charges.

On SSN..
‘Manchester City refuse to comment on a report in The Athletic that Pep has agreed a new contract’
Hopefully City are just putting the video together : )

Assuming it’s true, I’d like to think that the whole option of further 12 months would be based on Pep wanting to make sure the reigns were handed over at the right time to our best successor available, so if that man is ready in 2026 then great otherwise he will stay on. Pep loves the club.
