I think Pep's just cautious that he could wake up one day and realise he's completely burned himself out, the players aren't responding to his methods anymore and he doesn't have the energy to keep going. He's quoted as saying something similar when he was at Bayern. If that happens he doesn't want to be contractually obliged to stick around another two and a half seasons. I wouldn't read too much into him sticking to short-term extensions at the moment.

I’d also say Pep wants to ensure we are left in the safest hands possible when he does move on, if we manage to find the guy we want and it’s summer 2026 after the World Cup that he’s available then I’m sure he will do the honourable.

Good that the speculation is over for this year, now let's push for some more trophies this season!! Thumping Spurs this weekend would be a good start.
Was always of the opinion that Pep would do at least another year to help our new DOF settle cos that's very much in the club's interests. No idea if he'll extend beyond 2026 and I did think that Amorim would replace Pep but I'm sure Pep will do what he can to suit the best interests of the club 8-).

Just had the misfortune to watch what Sky Sports laughingly called Pep’s Best Bits. It started by showing him having a touchline row with Rooney and went downhill from there!
