This might sound odd but please bear with me.
It’s the tone In his voice, the look on his face, the sarcastic reply during interviews. Remember the “we don’t get any help” line?
He’s been here longer than any other club he’s managed. Wonder why?
But of course Pepball won’t work in the Premier League.
As a hypothetical, he doesn’t extend and goes on another sabbatical. 18 months from now he’s thinking let’s go again.
But where? There will be a sea change of manager after the World Cup so can’t see any opportunities there.
So back to club football and where else can he go? Who else can give him the support, facilities, etc that we can?
Mind you in that 18 months Stoke could have been bought out and have Haaland playing up front with Messi.
