Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Anyone else think that Patrick is being groomed for the job ?
Saw something with him saying its very difficult to always try and play the 'City' way in MSL, because of the quality of the players and pitches, so if he is being groomed it will probably need to be in a better league.

If Pep could stay for 5 more yrs it would be a right coup.
Always thought Viera was doing his time in NYFC to slot into the Ethiad in yrs to come but it's a extremely important appointment after Pep, whenever he leaves not sure who can even come close to replacing him.

I think Pep is the last stop of our self-making. Either Arteta or Vieira will get the job and whomever is picked will be staying for a long time. Thinking whiskey-nose/Arsene long.
God no, that's the last thing we want, there's fuck all wrong with changing coaches and freshening things up every few years, there's plenty wrong with having a dictator that ends up bigger than the club.

Pep doesn't actually want to be that figure though.

He wants Txiki etc to take most of that off his hands, so he can get on with the football. I'd be delighted for him to be here ten years, but he is such an intense character, that it's unlikely he could maintain his level for that long & as soon as his battery starts to wear down, he'll be gone, instantly.

Wouldn't even want Guardiola here that long, but the poster I replied to was suggesting Vieira or Arteta staying for 20 years. Fuck that.

Apart from Kompany, can anyone suggest a player/players from our recent history or current playing staff who's management material?
Debruyne.

He has already shown his leadership, fight and adaptability on the field this season. Plenty of footballing intelligence as well.

It would not be surprising if he went on to become a manager.
