Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

It would be nice if we added a crack type player this summer wouldn’t it? We have room in our budgets and it would be nice to add a Musiala type player to send the message out to not only the premier league and the likes of Madrid who just seem to be able to entice world stars we aren’t going anywhere and have that pull now
Agreed, I think we need 3 or 4 top players that would come in and challenge for a starting spot from day one, even more so if we lose Bernardo.

I also feel if we can bring in our main targets there will be a couple of shock exits.

No the decision HAS been made because txiki is retiring at 60 and soriano going to NYCFC as vice president. It has leaked out early and so now it’s stage managed for a bit to make it look like pep is mullingbit over.

People inside the club got an indication mid February club was going to be ok on the charges. That allows for the succession planning to take place. New York been part of the plan for a long time.
I find it hard to believe that Txiki is leaving at the same time as Pep, even more so with Omar going over to the rags.

Omar we were led to believe was highly rated by our Chairman so if that was the case and he knew Tixiki was leaving , would he have not waited to take over?

Or was Omar just a clown and we are happy to see him go to the circus?

I wouldn’t be shocked if KDB went this summer if the Saudi offer huge money to him and us? That then gives us the cash to go for Musiala or similar?

Greed is such a disappointing human trait. Already multi millioaires and set for life lavishly. You'd think they were on the minimum wage.
Throw away the remaining years for playing in front of Hough End crowds, living in a sterile compound, in constant unbearable heat, competing for historic trophies just bought from the local Sports shop,
The LIV golfers were disgusting enough.

I can't seem him going to saudi unless they offer such a crazy contract that he could not turn it down and maybe him going to NYCFC would be a huge coup for the City group and more advantageous than taking the transfer fee now.

Stones, Grealish and sadly Ederson are the ones I could see leaving.

Grealish maybe part of the Bruno deal and Stones going as part of the Musiala deal if there was a chance of him coming.

City recently announced that they are opening a City store in New York. The branding on the adverts is Manchester City, rather than New York City, although it will no doubt sell their stuff too.

It shows an intent to maximise our presence over there. So potentially one to watch for players reaching the end at City? The Beckham vanity project has stolen a lot of the headlines with the ex Barca connections, so I'm sure CFG are exploring their own opportunities.

Pep and KDB rocking up in the MLS would be huge, but as said earlier would it not be a shocking waste to see Pep out there with still so much to offer?

Agreed mate but although my heart still doesn’t bleed for them, getting taxed 50% off your wages compared to tax free and maybe treble your wages would make anyone think? Especially after what some of our lads have already won and in their 30’s?

I suppose Vinny might be able to help a bit in prising players away from Bayern now, only a bit I might add

I've heard fuck all, but this is pretty much exactly what I think. Just based on what Pep has been saying, what he has been like, and what we have previously seen happen.

Pep likes a bit of a new challenge every so often. Whether that is 'arsenal's message' that he kept mentioning, sustaining a hunger, the charges, or (if there is any truth to it whatsoever) doing it without tixiki and ferran, hope he finds one that makes him want to stay.

Pep staying, at least to complete a decade, would be the best news. However, if this season is to be his final season, I hope this is communicated before the start of the season and is handled differently to the Klopp/Liverpool nonsense, which seemed to come out of nowhere and can't have helped their season.

Currently I expect the lure of being the first team to win five league titles in a row to be a huge driver for Pep, however, should he achieve that in his final season, maybe he would see that as the perfect time to move on.
