Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

The fact city have felt the need to comment on this suggests to me that we where indeed interested and are trying to control the narrative a bit.

Do girona play in a similar way to city?

Couple of breakdowns, very flexible and targets wide overloads, a bit more line with early pep than current. Ive not seen much of them this season though tbh

Not having that the club knows his character as a manager and he doesn't suit us.

Anyway let's hope pep signs a 2 year extension

The need to comment might have been driven by the fact Viana has just been announced, so it would make this kind of link/speculation to RA really obvious. If it wasn’t for that, I’m not sure we would have issued anything via journalists.

He has said before he runs out of energy due to mental exhaustion. He has also said he finds it increasingly difficult to motivate the same group of players season on season. To back this up he has taken breaks in his career between clubs.
Obviously I hope he stays for the next 20 years but the above are some of the facts that must be taken into consideration when debating his next move.

We're not dealing with a very large sample size here though. He's managed 3 senior clubs and has been with us as long as the other two combined. Barcelona and Bayern are both heavily political clubs which would no doubt contribute to any mental exhuastion. We've clearly been doing something different to keep him as long as we have.
