Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

In my opinion I think that at this time it is particularly important for Man City supporters to show a great deal of personal support for Pep if they actually want him to stay. Because there are things happening in the background nobody knows about. And those things are not easy for Pep.

say a bit more about that mate. Why would it not be sustainable and secure now? I can understand why he would delay a 'I'm leaving' announcement but a renewal confirmation can only give stability and confidence surely.

A case of leaving it as late as possible to feel comfortable there is no burnout or his ways and intensity having run their course. And the players are still into it and motivated by it.

Ten Hag and Arteta both signed extesions not that long ago, prior to the season starting. Both have struggled to get their pre-summer highs back. Klopp signed his for a while, then around this time decided he (or maybe his team) have had enough. Guess Pep and the club don't want that, he wants to honour his contracts as do the club, and after 9 years of pure intensity, they both want to see how things are going rather than commiting at the end of a summer high. In as far as reasonable practical to predict.

Pretty much exactly what both have been saying to us.

Which in a way would put some relevance on the outcome I suppose.

What would, the 115? As above I meant without it, which would be the case whenever he was renewing, with or without the 115. As it was the last two times he renewed.

I still think if we don’t hear this break then he has hasn’t decided

Plenty evidence of burnout but to be fair I think that is the consequence of the last few seasons and the numbers of games. The spine of the team have spent a lot of years with the man and I would hope that they are beyond the 'he's too intense' barrier. I actually think he is not going to renew. Sure hope I'm wrong.

Sure hope you are wrong too.

I disagree for what it is worth.

We have been on a shoogly peg since the Rodri injury really, but the way we have found the resilience to win or draw games when it mattered looked like the hunger and desire is very much there.

Even Bournemouth, I think was more of an unlucky loss than a 'problem'. It happens. Sporting though, and Brighton second half, they were more worrying, and showed the fatigue and injuries catching up.

But that can all change, and it can happen to other teams too at some point. Doesn't mean there is burnout or the manager and team are no longer responding to each other.

On that basis, I think he will stay.
