Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

If we don’t hear anything next week, I’ll be of the opinion that he’s probably off. If he’s still doesn’t know now I’m questioning how invested he is.

If we don’t have the full buy in from Pep, which to be honest clarifying to the club that’s he’ll only be here one more season feels like he’s already got one foot out the door.

If it’s a case of get to next November and see how I feel (ie not ruling out another year extension) I’d be more on board with that.

No matter how much transition is happening in the club summer 2025, the moment Pep doesn’t feel invested or that he’s marking time with another year just because isn’t beneficial for us or Pep. Time for a new manager at that point.

Tolmie posted this story on here six months ago. Pep has always been staying at least one more season because he wants to win the Club World Cup and a one-year extension suits his present family circumstances. This has always been the most likely outcome and the media has now finally woken up to it.
It would just be good business to make that official if that's the case. In fact they should give him a 5 years one with a confidential get out clause after a year - the thought of him leaving is giving the scum and dippers hope.

Main concern with pep signing a 1 year deal is he is fiercely loyal. I foresee him going again with the likes of walker, kdb, Gundo, Bernardo, stones, ake etc his trusted players which would then leave us with one hell of a rebuilding job the following season.

The rebuild has to start January imo
Good. I'm loyal to the guys that won us 7, 10, 15 or whatever trophies too.

When you hear him and see his body language in press conferences, do you think he's not invested?

I don't. Especially in more recent ones. He's pumped in my opinion and will likely rise to the challenge from younger managers like Slot, Arteta, Maresca, Alonso and Neverwin at Utd.

I was thinking he's off after the Southampton performance as I felt it really looked lethargic but since then, with the run of defeats, after seeing him in press conferences I've felt he's likely to extend his stay and if its a 1 year extension, I'm happy with that as he's the best about.

Hopefully there will be plenty more 1 year extensions too.
