Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Calm down, dear

My point, for a bit of fun, was if the board rate Poch(which they may or may not do) and they really wanted him realistically they would need to get him this summer one way or the other and not hang on to decide if/when Guardiola decides to leave

This is a multi-billion pound corporation, not the cult of Pep. Forward planning is needed and if they’ve identified the guy they want(whoever that is) then they MIGHT decide to do things on the boards terms rather than the managers - I don’t think it’s a particularly controversial thing to say

For clarity, I would like Guardiola to be here for the next 10 years and have questions about Poch’s suitability. Personally, I think Poch will be at PSG come August
Why would we want Poch over Pep, that's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.

It's as simple as it is - if City want to keep the positional play as a vital system to how the club wants to play after Pep's gone Pochettino is a no go from the start, as well are most of the so called elite managers. Best options would be Ten Hag or Thomas Tuchel, depending on their availability, but more logical solution would be a promotion from within..

It’s not controversial, people are just deliberately misreading it. It sounds like it’s a moot point given Pep’s willingness to stay, but if he made clear that next season would 100% be his last I would also choose to bring in a new manager this summer, even given my opinion of Pep as the best in the world. Having a manager with less than a year on his contract is a recipe for underperformance, not to mention how much more difficult it makes things in the transfer market.

Pochettino is a fine manager btw, it’s not a coincidence that he’s going to be able to choose among several of the best clubs in the world (and Manchester United) for his next job.

He won't be able to choose THE best club in the world though, that position is taken by THE best manager in the world..... Marriage made in heaven..!

I think we can stop the competition to see who can post the most ridiculous idea on here (for the record the winner had to be the clarkie about sacking pep so we can get poch).

It’s now being reported that Pep is open to an extension.
I’m not religious but let us pray.
