Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

Football at the highest level right now is about high, intense pressure, and then attacking quickly and decisively when you win it, whether that’s from forcing the error high up the pitch, or through counter attacking from deep. It’s about pace, intensity, pressure, dynamism, mobility.

We only have about 3 players in the squad that seem to enjoy the pressing side of the game (Foden, Jesus, KDB) so if fit, these 3 should be the first names on the team sheet, I don’t care what anyone says. When we don’t have all 3, we are relying solely on KDB to produce magic.

Our counter attacking is absolutely woeful, in almost every aspect. The pass selection, the execution, having the intelligent runs. We just seem clueless at it and consistently fuck up 3v2’s, 4v3’s etc.

Too often we get the ball back and it gets slowly passed side to side until eventually getting to the feet of Ederson and we start from there.

Pep needs to understand that possession stats don’t directly win games. We need more than that. If he can’t get that out of the players then he should leave. And before the end of the season if that is the case, since there’d be no point to anything.

He needs to be asked if he has the stomach for the rebuild and to either sign now or leave now.
Think you can Bernardo into that group in relation to the pressing.

You know what? i'm fucking going to say it. Credit to bloody Liverpool supporters. They may be in a delusional bubble at times, they may be culty, but they back their manager and players as if they were the best.

For the best part of 5 years, under klopp, when they bounced between 7th in the league to 3rd at best, before they came even close to winning anything, i've seen them defend ther manager, argue it was all part of a rebuild and time was needed to build a winning team, and argue how good their players are. I remember thinking, how long does this build take, how long can that narrative last. No idea what their forums are like but from anyone i've ever heard, they've always backed their squad and management (helps when the media do the same i know) no end.

Contrast that to so many on here wanting a manager that has won unprecedented success, not just at the club but never before seen in the league and country, rid off, because the team lost 9 fucking games and got knocked out of a cup in a one off round! In a season of injuries, var, that CAS debacle the club went through, and a global pandemic.

Second game of the season, depleted squad, no pre-season, and it's time for him to go, write the rest of all competitions off?

Genuinely can't understand it.

PS. Fucking Pochetino???

Football as it is today, look at Bayern how they play, their squad, that's is the standard, they are the best, are we anywhere near them? No , not even close!

And the way Bayern conduct themselves is arrogance in the extreme but they do what is best for Bayern, again that is what matters.

This club is far too nice, has taken so much unnecessary sh1t it's untrue, why don't we fight back? Where is our backbone?

5 years of Pep, hundreds of millions spent and Mendy is still our only recognised Left back. :/
Ah sure he's the best manager in the world let's ignore his faults of which they are many. He's probably in the bottom 6 managers over the last 12 months. As for our recruitment?

Most people want Pep to organise the defense. We fall for the same 3 card trick all the time regardless of the quality of the opposition.

Are we just supposed to sit and clap when the problem is so blatantly obvious.

Ignoring the problem wont make it go away it will just get worse.

Not a shock to see some of the comments.
Think I’ll resist the over-reactionary cry arsing and back him to have another successful season and hope he puts pen to paper on another contract.
What makes you think things will improve? Just curious. No history of addressing any short comings we have.

Yes he had a very difficult hand to deal with given the injuries and then some disastrous individual errors. It didn't rain it was a category 5 hurricane.
Players who are no longer responding to the manager, players who don't fit the managers system.

Pep's team has to play high tempo, high line defence requires great energy and effort, we don't have players who can do that.

Where was John Stones yesterday? I hate the guy but if he was left out for Garcia he has every right to throw his toys out of the pram.
