Pep's contract situation | 2 year extension confirmed! (pg1817)

He's our man, and our genius but what happened last night can happen with Pep. He is a genius, but the line between genius & madman is very fine, and he went to far into the madman area in our club's biggest man. I've always thought if we have to much time between games or to prepare for games, this can happen, but that's the game and line with Pep.

He's the man for us for now, and a fair few years yet, it hurts and will for some time but Pep will be back amongst it next season's, and we will win the Champions League with Pep as manager, just a matter of time.

Love pep, he has had a 9.8 out of 10 season,,pep knew how Chelsea would set up and play, he tried to do something about it, but it failed,
Wouldn't change him for any other manager in the world, proper class act, anyone calling him to be sacked hasn't got a clue imo, anyone saying he is arrogant hasn't got a clue, the best and most humble manager we will ever have,
We have to take pep as he is, he will get 98 of 100 decisions right, but we have to accept 2 will be wrong

Totally agree with your comments, I would rather play our way than play parasite football, i.e. sitting back with a back seven and hitting teams on the break. Like everybody on here I am gutted, but when I look back to Halifax and Shrewsbury defeats in the F.A. Cup and the disastrous league campaigns we have endured it puts everything into perspective, we have just won the Premier League and the League cup and our critics are calling this season a failure. I remember walking away from Middlesbrough ground in May 2008 on the last day of the season after getting beat 8 - 1 and telling my mate that I thought I would never see City win a trophy again in my life, well we all know what happened after September 2008.

I agree!
And the 2 wrong ones will, most likely, be in the toughest games. Because THAT is where the margins are tighter!
The guy is a goddammit legend.

Sorry, but it's true, pep can't win the CL, at Barca, he had the greatest player in Messi and was able to do it. Barring Messi, he can't, and he can't do it is because of his over-thinking! The starting line up against psg would have won us this game....having sterling start, wtf, he should not even be in the team, only thing he does consistently is fall over his own feet! Pep is brilliant, but he is also his and our worst enemy in the big games....

I hope he shuts me up the next season and wins the CL....finally. really, really sad Aguero couldn't go out with a winners medal, with all his injuries, there is still no one better to have in front of goal, he should have been offered another contract, even if he plays 10games in the season, he will still be better then sterling playing the whole season....

He’s our most successful manager. He has brought us a brand of football which is brilliant to watch. With a sporting media that is largely anti City he has stuck up for us (Imagine how worst the stick we would get if he wasn’t our manager). He lost his mother this (pandemic) year but still was committed to the club. Whilst not perfect he deserves our respect.

Hope he stays beyond 2023.

This season Pep did wonders with one fit striker and even he was out for 2 months.

Given that Aguero, Jesus, Sterling and Kevin had (much) worse seasons than in 19/20, Pep did wonders to win the league by 12 pts, win the league cup, get us to the FA Cup semi and the CL final. With one fit striker and most of the attacking players worse than in 19/20, we were just 3 wins away from the quadruple. Let that sink in.

Well said. Be careful what you wish for.
