The only feasible reason he is going there is because he's been told Pep isn't leaving

That was definitely my takeaway. Or at least I think at a minimum it gives credence to Pep staying for 1 more season. If he thought there was even the slightest chance he could get the City job in the summer I don't think he'd be taking this one.

I personally am still fully on board with Michel getting the gig when Pep goes.

Real managers don’t generally have long stays whereas he looks at City and sees Pep into 9 seasons The decision will not come down to where he played it will be what he thinks is best for his career and only he can make that
