Pep's Press Conferences - Watford (A) Post Match (Page 129)

"They were better. They've been together two..three years...?"

Good answer. A tribute to Pooch and saying were not developed in the way he wants to play.

The way he plays the press with no controversy, soundbites, just the truth. Makes me appreciate him more and more. He gives the shit stirrers nothing.

Loved that press conference. Calm. Admitted the other side was better. Didn't look for excuses such as proximity to the match against Celtic. Didn't blame any individual players for the loss.

Yeah kept things internal which was good to see but you could tell with some of his wording, he knew exactly who was at fault.

I think expextstions were much higher realisim. I believe it is going to take time and at least couple of windows to reach desired shape and full system adaptation. However am ridculously disappointed over this defeat:(

good...this is the difference (amongst others) i expected from MP who blindly continued making the same mistakes .....i don't want to see and I expect we won't see Pep making the same mistakes over and over again.....I know he was slightly hamstrung today by injuries and suspension but when we have the players we have available he hopefully now realises that some of them cannot play the way he wants them to.....kolorov, fernando in particular struggle in possession against high tempo pressing teams ...which is what we will face from all our main opponents in the league and champs league

Better this than playing against park the bus teams leading to boring games with slow tempo high possession. The Celtic and Spurs games were not ideal results, but it was 90 minutes edge of the seat stuff.

Glad folks has already loved him. Totally different situation from Bayern when after treble lot of fans, especially from East Europe, almost instantly hated him for his style, tiki-taka, etc. They wanted a German style, for Christ's sake. And losing badly to Real and Barca also didn't help.

Seemed very relaxed. I think this start has worked out, Pep definitely had extensive preparation for the beginning of the season. Never done that before, usually it was a really slow start, he drop points in first La Liga games often.

Now when he gave players confidence his styles works, they can win many games and eventually titles, real work begin.

"tiki-taka" is not Pep's style in fact he hates it. Procession and passing it for the sake of it is not his way, just the opposite in fact

Everton (h) post match:

Does he really belive in this 'football is strange, sometimes you play well and lose' idea is enough? We've been hearing this for five years and failing to win matches like this is the reason we've failed to win a league as convincingly as we could have if we'd found a way to unlock these defences like teams have before us.
