As someone who was in the away end, you're spot on. I think we all assumed that De Gea had tipped it round for a corner. Being where we were, and with the delayed reaction of the players, it was impossible to know that it had gone in. We weren't the only ones though. My boss - a United fan - was down near that corner where Bernardo celebrated and he didn't think it had gone in at first either. A City fan I work with was watching at home and he didn't know. Bernie's delayed reaction seems to be because after getting the touch he slid off the pitch and as he's sliding he's facing the opposite way so would've practically needed eyes in the back of his head to know straight away! Of course, I've watched it back since and a couple of players do have their arms in the air as soon as we scored but then don't start running to celebrate with him until a couple of moments later.

Yeah, it's a fair distance from where the away fans are housed down to that far end of the finest real estate in Trafford. I assume it was quite an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon?

Bernie hadn't realised he'd scored until he rolled over and either, or both, saw the look on de Gea's face and the ball in the net! There's quite a few angles where yer left wondering how it got in! I hear de Gea keeps phoning Laporte every hour or so - Cómo entró? The answer from Aymeric keeps coming back - Porque eres inútil!

why do players slide on their knees to home fans ? A lot do it..

Is it because they know cameras are in the corner ?
Dont stop though bernard, hopefully in 8 years time when you retire there will be thin skin on your knees from all the sliding up and down at the swamp.
was class when he slid over to us a couple of years ago at the swamp then jumped back up punching the air.
