Peps Targets

I think that's unlikely if we're after top class signings. There's no reason why their clubs would agree a deal now when they can have an auction in the summer. Drag it out and wait for City to make the inevitable 3rd offer. We might do a quick deal if there special circumstances, A player in dispute with his club like Sterling, or a cheap release clause (Delph) or a club that's skint (Silva). But that's unlikely to be the case with the players we're supposed to be chasing. Most of the transfers will follow a similar timeline to De Bruyne. Until we walk away from deals for over-priced players we'll be seen as a soft touch in the transfer market.

I agree with you. We will know the names of who we want but we won't have tied any deals up. We're not talking about clubs that are keen to sell. Juve will be an absolute pain over the Pogba transfer. The amount of time it took to get Sterling and De Bruyne gives me no hope that deals will be tied up any quicker. Perhaps the only difference now is the Pep factor... his arrival may see players more willing to force moves through quickly. He's an extra attraction that might speed things up.

How many players do we think will actually leave this summer?

For me the definite departures are Demichelis, Caballero, Mangala, Bony and Fernando. Then you have a few very likely departures in Wright, Zabaleta, Kolarov and Navas. Then possible but less likely departures like Yaya, Nasri and even Silva.

There has been a few snippets that says were looking at 4-5 players at most. That means one keeper plus Pogba, Gundogan, Laporte and maybe Oxlade-Chamberlain with Denayer to return.

Assuming only the first 5 listed above leave it could mean a rethink of the team setup as we could have 4 Centre backs, 4 full backs over 30, 5 centre midfielders, 6 attacking midfielders/ wingers and two specialist forwards.

Considering how attacking Peps full backs have been it's hard to see how the current (and linked) personnel full those positions. Unless the club is betting very big on Maffeo and Angelino which I can't see as Maffeo isn't playing for Girona and Angelino's move to NYC wasn't a huge success, then there's either some full backs or wide men on the shopping list that have't been talked about or we going to see some radical changes to our formation and setup.

City are attempting to meet Kante's agent in Paris during the international break to discuss a summer move according to La Parisien.

How many midfielders we are going to buy? Gundogan, Kroos and Pogba were briefed as targets by the club this week + Di Marzio saying Isco is a target as well who can play CM. I know Pep likes his midfielders but if Yaya is also staying then can't see this really.

Isco also said today he's two years left on his current deal and happy to see them out.

doubt Real would be happy to let him on free transfer in 2 years though
No but it means that he is happier than being reported if you ask me. Kroos is more probable it seems.
Gundogan, Laporte, Pogba, Denayer promoted, Zieler and a wide forward seems most likely.
Bony, Fernando, Willy, Kolarov and Zab going seems probable.
