Much better than FIFA, just hope they've fixed the ridiculous free kick decisions and your forwards constantly being offside! They do that it'll be perfect!
 
Cool, thanks for the heads up, I'll get it for PS3 tomorrow and the decision making process can begin.

It's totally different. No point getting into a Fifa vs PES debate really. Totally different games. If you are accustomed to one, it's hard to really enjoy the other.

I was accustomed to PES and I switched to FIFA 10 because PES 2009 was so crap. Trying to play PES 2010 and PES 2011 is like trying to make a flash animation.

Odd, i don't think Fifa 10 was particularly good. I think Fifa 09 was great. Lasted me a full year. I can enjoy Fifa 11 on manual. Assisted bores the tits off me. It's like Pinball Rugby.

I'll still end up buying both though. Always do.

Looking forward to giving it a go tomorrow. Have they fixed the things I mentioned above? The ridiculous offsides and the daft free kick decisions? They drove me up the wall in 11!
 
I play both for different reasons. I see FIFA as a good social game, got the proper teams and licenses and it's easy to casually pick up and play. That said I find it too easy against the AI, the last time I played Manager Mode I took Notts County from League 2 to the Premiership and won the thing in 4 seasons. I just wish there was a harder difficulty setting, it feels like the game is playing itself for me and I hardly have to do anything. I knew when I beat Arsenal 4-0 in the League Cup with Notts in my first season that it wasn't going to be enough of a challenge.

PES on the other hand, I've been playing it for 10 years now and I don't think I've ever won the Master League D2 straight off if I start with the default players (think I came second once though). It normally takes 3 seasons for me to get the players in to start to dominate things. It's much harder to win games with a poor team and tactically (though not visually) it always feels a lot more realistic. The thing that lets it down are the fiddly little errors. Before you say I could just be bad at PES, I do better online at PES than I do at FIFA. I'm in D1 online for PES, whereas people constantly score annoying jammy goals against me on FIFA.

Conclusion: I think I'll buy both.
 
ono, are you on ps3? If so, add me quietriot1983, I'm a manual player, 10 min halves, slow. Best games.
 
I am still playing PES on the PS2 tried my best to play the next gen releases on PS3 but they have been dreadful upto now. I will try again with PES12 demo - fingers crossed. Thanks for the heads up!!

October 14th It's out I think.

I was looking on xbox live before for the demo, can't believe they've delayed it. Can't play the PC version without a pad.
