PES 11 2 player Master League.

Current total time played 864 hours.

Geek.

Staring at demo download percentage. Hurry up!

I quite like it. Players have weight, so you can't change direction in an instant like FIFA. Graphics are top notch too, no neon-green pitches.

Feels nice to hit a shot from long range and it NOT balloon into space.

Nice thing i've noticed with skillfull players....

Stop the ball dead, face up to your opponent and just flick the right analogue stick, and you will see him do step overs. They look ace. Haha.

Having most fun playing with Santos. Ganso, Elano and Neymar are ace. Elano's got a right strike on him. So has Ganso, with his left foot.

Yeah I had a good game with Santos, put some nice moves together, although I put it down to the total lack of pressure from...that other team?!

Quite like playing as Porto as well, came from 2-0 against the scum, 2-2, only for Shrek to score in the last second...FFS.

Yeah i lost to them 2-1 aswell. Two late Rooney goals. One was a free-kick cross which missed everyone and went in. Would have looked quite realistic if my keeper was facing the pitch.

The keepers are a total joke but apparently they will be a lot better in the next demo.

I like it. It certainly has potential.

Has anyone found through-balls incredibly hard to get right? I don't think I have had a one on one with the keeper yet.

Also, has anybody been able to tackle Robinho? He is too good on this game.

Keepers are a joke, scored far too many where afterwards I've thought "he really should've saved that."

Also, Robinho is vastly overpowered, he scored 4 against me in one game, all a result of dancing through from the halfway line.

Yeah the keepers are shocking but they have been on every next gen PES. I still play PES6 on the PC, and the keepers are really good on that, so it's disappointing. Having said that, Konami have already said they will be fixed in time for the next demo, which should be more of an accurate representation of the actual game.

Tackling is a lot harder. There's a few challenges in training mode i think where you can learn the skill a little bit better. I'm still struggling with it but i've found if i jockey and back off, i end up getting the ball eventually. It does feel like skillfull players can just walk straight through you at times.

Game definitely has a lot of potential though. Just needs polishing.

Just had a comedy moment.

Ball bounces over the defence, and the keeper rushes out, catches it and lands about 5 yards outside his box...no free kick, but an invisible force pushes him back into the box.

Had a funny moment with AC Milan against Manchester United. Rooney shoots , goalkeeper saves , ball lands on the line. Nobody does anything even though i am pressing buttons frantically (goalkeeper just standing there next to the ball , defenders just standing around the box , rooney just standing in front of the ball doing nothing). This goes on for a long time and finally gattuso comes and tries to clear the ball by sliding it into the net. :/

just played it and it's rubbish compared to FIFA ...

How? Back it up with why, otherwise you look like a FIFA fanboy.
This is the problem Konami have got...

Nearly everyone seems to play Fifa and they become accustomed to how it feels. Then, if you switch to PES, it feels slow and robotic. Personally i think this is because Fifa is too responsive for a football simulation. There's a real lack of inertia between the pitch and the player. Like they're skating, rather than running.

PES has always had that inertia. I like what Konami are trying to do with the series. I just feel like they still have a lot of hurdles to overcome to win over the masses again. I'd hate for it to become a pick up and play type of game, which is essentially what Fifa is imo.

But because it isn't like that, people dismiss it too easily.

Having said that, Fifa is still a good game. It does some things really, really well. PES has the potential to be a lot better than Fifa, but there are just too many little niggles with it at the minute. Some of them are unforgiving.

I actually think i'd settle for PES 5 with next gen graphics. Haha.

Well thats bollocks (in the nicest possible way) ;)

Everyone used to play PES (myself included) up until this gen and around 2005... the switch has happened because FIFA have been producing a far superior game.

Proof if you like, that the masses will migrate to the 'best' game, as opposed to being 'fan boys'.

PES deffinately hasn't had this "inertia", i remember people moaning FIFA was to sluggish and PES was better because i could pick the ball up in my own half, dribble round 16 players and them smash it in the top corner from 30 yards... with David Sommeil!

I can't even try this version yet as Seabass can't even coordinate a demo launch anymore.

How the mighty have fallen.
