Haha, I'm not fussed if you believe me or not mate, I was surprised myself.
I played within a 4-3-3 with a high line and the fullbacks pushed on, it helped me to dominate possession and as a result it was a stroll.
The AI is a major flaw.
The few times I actually enjoyed it was online, when you negate the use of the AI (to a degree at least).
Too many flaws for me, and the polished look doesn't compensate as far as I'm concerned.
It's not that, i do believe you.
I'm just finding it tough on professional at the minute, but i'm using default Master League players + Jo upfront, which is probably an even bigger handicap. Haha.
A few gripes have been creeping in with me today aswell. Player switching is officially shite. Lost a last minute equaliser to it. Shooting seems a bit random. Sometimes it's floaty and barely reaches the net, other times it's fine. I don't think it feels as good as the demo. Seems a little faster. Still enjoying it a fair bit though. Scoring is really satisfying (albeit not 8 times in 1 game), especially in ML because goals are hard to come by.
Is it the Ai on your own team or the computer's Ai that's bothering you? Or both?
I can imagine you'd find it difficult!
With regards to the AI, both.
I'll give you a few examples;
A freekick towards the corner of the penalty area, one pass to an unmarked Kolarov stood behind the wall a yard or two in front of the six-yard box, one touch, a turn, a half volley and 6-0.
I've strolled past players while in possession on the flanks, I've overran the ball on numerous occasions, only for the AI controlled opposition to gaze at the ball and not simply come across me and take the ball from me.
The goalkeepers, where do you start?
The fullbacks rarely push on whereas in previous instalments, the AI would recognise when to push on into abandoned space.
You've touched on the player switching.
The ball physics are just plain odd.
The shooting IMO is awful, like I said previously I scored two 30 yard screamers in the same game, both with De Jong. I just don't find it satisfying, the realism isn't there.
I'm trying to think of other examples, but they all contribute to a generally poor impression I've built over the past few days.
Tbh I just feel it has lost its solidity, the realism that separated it from Fifa.
Once you recognise the AI's flaws it's all too easy to exploit them, again contributing to make the game less difficult.
I really enjoyed last years Pro Evo, and I expected them to build upon that, but again they completely overhauled it, to the detriment of the game.
Tbh, I'm just disappointed mate, I expected a little bit more.
Meh.

-- Sat Oct 09, 2010 7:49 pm --

And just to add, the game's are always really bitty, no fluidity to them. There's never been a point where a potential advantage is played (which has never been an issue in Fifa), everything is blown up immediately which really quite simply removes a lot of potential enjoyment from the game, and is incredibly fucking frustrating!
The tackling too, while being encouraged to lunge in because a good tackle seems much easier to commit, the consistency isn't there in what is deemed a foul and what isn't. You can cleanly win the ball, but take a bit of the player after taking the ball, and be punished with a yellow card. Your own AI controlled defenders will often lunge in too, which has resulted in the odd penalty here and there.
I just find it much more frustrating, and much less satisfying than last year's Pro, too many flaws.
