Just wanted to say a huge thank you to everyone who has contributed, sent cards & gifts to ensure Pete Berry will have a very special 77th Birthday this coming weekend.

As mentioned before, Pete lives alone and lives for City match days so I know how much this is going to mean to him, he has already said on numerous occasions how humble and grateful he feels for everyone’s kindness.

Imagine if Pete was a fan of one of the red tops. it would be national news, Sky sports, BBC football focus, Guardian interviews etc. to be fair having known Pete he would probably tell them to f... off and mind your own business.

I have enough contributions now to help ensure the day is extra special for Pete and really appreciate the support.

I’ve spoken to Pete tonight who was simply overwhelmed with everyone’s kindness which will mean the world to him and I will make sure he gets a special day to which I look forward to sharing it with everyone.
