My attitude to Leeds was always rather ambivalent in the late '60s and '70s. I did find their approach ruthlessly physical and overly negative and often dreaded their getting the first goal in any match I was watching but this didn't prevent my admiring the quality of their individual players, one of whom was Peter Lorimer. He will always be remembered for his ferocious shot but there was always far more to his game than that.
Today another link has been severed, not only to a golden age of Leeds United, but also to what was a golden age for City and English football and all those who love football and footballers will be deeply saddened by Peter's passing.
