It used to be 40p but went up to 45p in 2011. JOTS you need to start claiming more.

45p a mile only just covers the cost of the fuel :(

45p a mile mate on tax think they've standardised it, instead of amounts for different engine sizes, could be wrong about that bit. Over 2 litre 45p defiantly

Are you the real Andy Hinch ?

If so I saw you jogging the other day and gave you a beep.

Depends on employer themselves to pay the full rate of 45p but my place does 20p.

Self employed and I believe it's 10k miles at 45p and thereafter ate 25p.

If you're a p.a.y.e and use your personal car for work journeys other than commute to set workplace, then you get paid by your employer by cash or via wages and at the end of teh year you should send a P87 to HMRC to claim back the difference if your employer pays less than 45p. You will get a fifth back via tax relief on the amount.

I recently did the latter so pretty clued up on this.

Evening everyone.

Just a bit of advice needed here.

I did a job the other week and got promised petrol money.

What is the going rate these days?

The guy has said 20p/mile ...

Any help would be appreciated

There is no going rate......I know firms that pay between 15p and 45p

Sorry, just to point out, I am sub contracted to this company, so self employed.

It isn't a company car.

I think 45p/mile is correct from the feedback.

Cheers guys
