I agree, he easily eclipsed Elano by the end of his first season. and despite only getting a few chances in the seasons that followed, he was always a major threat, scored goals, made chances. He's been my favourite attacking player bar none since swp's first spell, until tevez stole the show this year. He's out of contract and deserves top flight first team football so I wish him well and will keep an eye at him wherever he ends up.

you obviously didnt see MP play in his last few games for city - as much as I thought he was great he was absolutely terrible and lazy in his last 5 or so games

99% of left sided players are incapable of playing on the right like mancini continued to do with him for some bizarre reason. yeah robben and messi do it, but the majority cant. these were his last 5 or so games. and as for the lazy comment, there is lazier players in our side getting good receptions off city fans..

a fit martin petrov has far more of an effect on a football match than either shaun wright phillips or adam johnson.

Elano was wanked over for his 8 or 9 standout performances that season, in the same way ireland was the season before last, nobody remembered the games where they did fuck all inbetween.

He's a quality player, but injuries have slowed him down now - will still be sadly missed, if only for the Rigsby jokes.

One of my favourite players over the years. Brought a lot of flair and ability that I hadn't seen watching the likes of Samaras and Mpenza. Scored some cracking goals and has one of the best left foots I've ever seen. Think its the right time for him and the club for him to leave though, he's the wrong side of 30 and deserves to get some first team action before he retires though age or injury. Good luck Martin.
