Petrov On City

Thats why we let him leave and replaced him with Silva, so we can get closer to challenging

"It was frustrating, but not because I didn't play - I understand, because they are buying big stars now for so much money," Petrov said.

"Every time I played on the pitch I showed that I have a place in this team, but okay, the decision is the manager's.

"But the worst thing is that the communication in this club with the players who do not play is not professional.

"I am 31 years old and I felt like I was 13 there. Nobody spoke with me about my situation - they knew that my contract was finishing."

Funny that he describes us as unprofessional, from the man who injured himself messing around on an airport carousel, as for being treated as a 13 year old...if the cap fits...

Good to see he's got the small minded mentality off already, Gartside will love it, he'll fit right in there.

just said on SSN that petrov doesnt think we are good enough.
he never said that at all, thats just skyMUtv adding their usual shite/spin

on any story involving city.

Haven't heard his interview, but I do think that in Sven's one season here and until he was injured under Hughes, Petrov was one of the more dynamic attacking players we had. He whipped in some beautiful crosses that defenders and goalkeepers found hard to deal with.

I seem to recall that it was his cross in to Ireland that VDS fumbled and Vassell rebounded in at the famous 2-0 victory at the Swamp (correct me if I'm wrong). I remember similar goals occurring on numerous occasions. Plus, he fired in a fair few long range shots himself.

I'm sure that AJ, Silva, and even Robinho if his head is straight, are capable of the same or better service to the strikers. Just want folks to remember Martin's contributions to the club.

He was our best player in 07/08 and covered more miles than any other player.

However he didn't treat a stranger in the street (who demanded pictures and autograph) like a long lost friend.

He did us proud when he played last season, I hope he does well.

My first thought of Petrov whenever I see him is when he was warming up in the friendly at Shrewsbury, he hit a shot which missed but clattered into the ad boards like a rocket. All the fans at the front of the stand shit themselves.

He's gone, never be a starter for us now and wouldn't want to be on the bench.

I wish him good luck.
